I got this to specifically control camera from inside my house using Canon's EOS Utility app. It works flawlessly with no noticeable delays. The cable itself feels rather sturdy. It's a stiffer plastic than your average data cable and since I'll be using this mostly outside I figure that's for the better. It works so well that I am tempted to get one more to see if two together would work, allowing me to operate my camera at a 64' foot range. The camera I am controlling is a Canon 5d mk iv and while using the Canon EOS utility app, you can completely control all aspects of your camera. This cable doesn't hinder or delay anything I have attempted. Using a cable as opposed to using Canon's native phone app which uses WiFi with your camera is infinitely better. If I knew multiple strands would work together - I would get the max. Definitely recommended ... show more

I recently changed the configuration of my EEG lab. I moved the remote IR receiver (i.e., a unit that receives input from a multi-channel head-mounted EEG transmitter) that requires a USB connection to another room. Using a standard USB cable, I was unable to establish a working connection from the receiver to the computer interface into which the other end of the USB cable was plugged. I substituted this active USB cable and all of the connection errors were resolved and data collection went as though the device was right next to the computer. If it works for this application, it will certainly work for a much less data intensive application, like video. ... show more
