The other reviews are correct when they say these sheets are not soft. They definitely feel like stiff 100% cotton. I was so disappointed. I am returning these.

So out of the package I did not like these sheets at all. I was a bit shocked by their claims based on what I was feeling. I was even shocked by other reviews. The bag they came in was softer than they were. It wasn’t just that they felt starched it was almost a plastic texture and they even sounded like plastic. I washed them once and no change. The company seemed to know what they were talking about on the packaging and given other reviews I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and research how to properly care for pure cotton sheets. So I have now washed them a total of 3 times and have soaked them in vinegar and baking soda. They did improve! I do believe with use and washing they will soften more and they might last a longer than some because of the weave. However I’m not sure the “breaking in” period is something I would have chosen if I had known. I found out they also benefit from ironing and.. let’s just say that’s not happening. Soaking in baking soda, vinegar, using borax, ironing, tumble drying with dryer balls are all methods to help. Using fabric softener might help initially but I read in the long run it’s not good for cotton fibers. I also had to figure out thread counts. These are single ply 400 thread count which if what I read was accurate is one of the most durable. Many that are 600 or above are actually no better than lower thread counts because cheaper fibers are simply woven together more thickly and tend to fray. Hopefully this info helps someone who was as unfamiliar as me. I also found out percale, the type of weave used in these, is most often used for coolness and crispness like in hotels. I certainly hope these soften well to feel like that. I plan on giving them a fair shake to see if they soften further and are durable and then I will update my review. I soaked them all at once and I think they will do better one sheet at a time so they don’t ball up. This is truly one of those things I think I had to relearn that our grandparents definitely knew, I just have always had blended sheets. These have not yet convinced me to switch to cotton only but I’m still experimenting on the best methods. I would definitely recommend to those familiar with pure cotton sheets or those who do not like blends and who don’t mind that these need the right care. It seems like if you knew what you were doing you could soften them far quicker than what I’ve done trying different things! ... show more

My wife sleeps hot, and I sleep cold, so we spend an inordinate amount of time looking for sheets that work for both of us. I heard a while ago that percale weave sheets should make both of us happy, so I was excited to order these sheets. And I guess I have to agree that they regulate temperature really well...at the expense of any level of softness or comfort. These sheets feel like sandpaper. We washed them before putting them on the bed, since cotton usually needs that to soften up, but after a couple nights of sleeping on these sheets, I started waking up feeling like I'd just used a loofah. I toss all night on them, because they're just rough enough to make my skin itch. We're going to try washing them a second time, but if that doesn't help, they're not going on the bed again. ... show more

These are not soft sheets at all, they feel like any other cheap set of sheets that you buy at your local neighborhoods store. They’re 400 thread count it doesn’t feel like it.

These sheets were SUCH a disappointment....a Wrinkled ,Knotted rubbery mess DO NOT BUY :( ...I do have pictures....can not post due to phone issue.... also can not return due to Location....VERY disappointed !!! Beware of "Blessings" , these were very much in Disguise......
