Colors cover the numbers very well, and the paint is good quality. The numbers are sometimes hard to read though, and you should probably buy a different paintbrush for the smaller areas because the one provided is too big. I actually either cut the bristles sideways or use eyeliner brushes which are super tiny but perfect for painting small areas. All in all this is a good buy. Definitely worth it.

I do a lot of paint by numbers and this style is probably my favorite. When you look at the unpainted canvas it's a million tiny little spaces that don't make sense and it's hard to see the finished picture. As you work on it, it slowly starts to take shape and the end result is really great looking. This style has a lot of depth, especially when viewed from a few feet away. This is definitely a "trust the process" canvas. This might not be the best beginner project unless you are very ambitious or patient. The quality of this kit is just normal. There's nothing wrong with the canvas or the paint. This kit is the quality that is standard for nearly every paint by number kit out there. If you look at the price point, you can get an idea of what is standard. At this price point, you aren't going to get a professional grade high quality canvas. What you do get is a canvas that has a bit of texture to keep the paint from sliding off. The back is actual canvas but it is flexible. There are going to be folds and that is normal, standard quality. It's easy to get the wrinkles out with a low, warm iron (not hot) and some patience. I typically don't need to iron unless the folds are extreme. Some canvases will have cracks in the actual painting surface where they are folded. If that happens, I definitely think that is a quality issue. However, this canvas does not have that issue. The paint for this kit is the standard quality that you get in nearly every paint by number out there. The paint isn't artist quality acrylic paint. It isn't even student quality grade. Some colors will be streaky and you will need multiple coats. That's ok, its normal for even some high quality paints. It has to do with the pigments and binders. For example, bright reds will almost always be transparent. The same goes with most yellows, unless it is pastel yellow. Pastel yellow has a white base added to the pigment so it has better coverage. Some browns, greens, and purples are like this. It isn't an indicator of quality, in my opinion. You can easily fix this by adding in a drop of a similar tone that is lighter or pre-painting your reds with a light coat of gray. I have done over 50 paint by numbers and I've never had a kit where every single color had good coverage. It just doesn't happen. I wouldn't consider it a quality issue unless the paints have separated, dried out, or have weird chunky textures. That is not the case with this kit. Only one or two shades needed multiple coats in this kit. Do yourself a favor and find some affordable brushes. This kit comes with three blue plastic brushes. Sometimes you get 3 good brushes, sometimes you don't. These come standard with almost every kit out there. If your brush is weird, you can trim off any stray bristles. You can also trim down one of the brushes to make it easier to get into those small areas. I have painted canvases with the provided brushes, but it's honestly a better experience to get a set of affordable brushes. You can find them for the price of this kit or less.

This paint-by-numbers kit comes with everything you’d need to paint the picture by numbers. It has the canvas painting, 3 brushes, the paint, instructions, and little hooks to hang the finished product with. The canvas comes creased because of the folds (they mention this), but a light iron on low heat fixed the majority of it to the point it’s no longer a problem. The numbers/shapes are printed well and are easy to read. A few of the verrrry small spots are a little tougher to read, but there is an included paper version to help clarify that’s pretty good. The included paint is acrylic, and works fairly well. The brushes are…okay, but I expected this. I am only using the smallest so far and may take out some of my own for the even smaller details. However, the painting can be made with just the included brushes, it just might take more patience. I have only painted a few blocks so far, but will update on how good the picture comes out compared to the reference and maybe the hooks, if I use them. Update: after painting about 1/3, I would add a few things (pictures included). The drawbacks are bad enough for me to drop one star. But I still do highly recommend this. It has been a lot of fun so far still. 1) this is an advanced paint by numbers. Some of the odd shapes blocks only have one color number. I have to paint little tracks/breadcrumbs to be sure I get all of them (see the pic with the dots) 2) there is one unnumbered block so far. I checked the guide. See the pictures with the yellow highlight. I believe both problems can be solved with more numbers on complex blocks, which they do do for some of the biiiiiig open ones for the sky, but it’s not necessary there, it is for these squeezed-in blocks. Maybe they are going by area? 3) the paint brushes are just meh. I am only using the smallest one because of the complexity, and it is falling apart. I haven’t even gotten to the narrow lines of flowers yet. Recommend, for this version at least, adding an even narrower brush.
