If you are a child of the 80s or 90s, likely you have some wonderful memories of "the arcade" - playing those classic quarter-munching games from Pac-Man to Double Dragon and numerous others... Guess what? They're all here! Or, perhaps you spent more time at home playing your Nintendo Entertainment System, or your Sega Genesis... those, are here too! The Evercade is a childhood dream made reality - it's a video game system for classic games that previously you could only play at the arcade or some some sort of unofficial emulation. Now, you just plug in a cart (think NES-like cart) and you are good to play for hours and hours and hours! Every game available is officially licensed. At this very moment (March 6 2022) there are 297 games available, and more planned. The game systems supported include: Arcade Atari 2600 & 7800 Gameboy Intellivision (Atari) Lynx NES SNES Genesis Indie While you might think that only old games are included in this collection, there are new and wonderful indie games included as well such as Deadeus, Foxyland, Xenocrisis, and numerous others. The number of games per cart varies, with the lowest being two, and going up to 20. Each cart comes in a very small but cute plastic box, and I was stoked to find that each cartridge comes with a manual! Heck, if you purchase a so-called AAA-game for you PS5 or Xbox chances are it does not include a manual! Also, price-wise, I have not seen these for more than $30 retail. Many are $20 which quite honestly makes building up an Evercade collection easy peasy. Here is what you get with your Evercade System: The Box - colorful and reminiscent of old system boxes such as NES, SNES, etc. The Console - it's cute and tiny! Word of advice, to turn it on you need to HOLD the power button for a few seconds. Two Controllers - exceeded my expectations, they are similar to SNES controllers but a bit more advanced and they look lovely to boot! Quick Start Guide - self explanatory, in many languages. Power Cord - connects to a USB power adapter. Data East Arcade 1 - includes: Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja, Burger Time, Sly Spy, Gate of Doom, Wizard Fire (I love this game), Breakthru, Tumbepop, Darwin 4078, Chain Reaction, Lock 'N Chase. Technos Arcade 1 - includes: Double Dragon II: The Revenge, The Combatribes, Mysterious Stones: Dr John's Adventure, Block Out, Double Dragon 3, Mana Challenge, Minkey Monkey, Battle Lane! Vol 5 What is NOT included: USB Power Adapter - while not expensive, it is not included. HDMI Cable - also not expensive, but also not included. The number of games and diversity, is lovely. From RPGs to shooters, there are games for everyone! Up to four players can join in (again, two controllers are included), and if you want to purchase an extra set of controllers or a new game cartridge, it is so very affordable that it makes the Evercade a real gem! If you are a retro-player, this is THE best system on the market. Furthermore, you can connect your system online, but you absolutely do NOT have to - this is a plug-n-play system all ready to go! Did I also mention you can save your game at any time? Playing a tough arcade game and you made it to the last boss? Feel free to save and load as often as you wish! Are you not happy with some aspect of the system? Go ahead and readjust the settings, everything is simple and intuitive. Bottom Lines: If you are a retro-player or want to play classic games, this is THE best way to go! Most (three that I've tried anyways) third party controllers that lack a dedicated home button ate unusable. Using a second controller for it's home button messes up the start and/or select mapping on the 1st controller. You're either forced to plug/unplug controllers or restart the system. Evercade claimed this would be fixed only to have the next update ignore the problem. Is start+select=home really that tough? I'd love better support for Hyperkin Trooper and some difficulty switch options for 2600 & 7800 titles (a gross oversight). 8bitdo & Konami PC Engine controllers also suffer issues from no Home button. Neogeo mini pad is not recognized at all - - would be a fantastic add. The only controllers that work without issue seems to be the ones dammed near identical to the included ones (so what's the point?). And WHY on gods green earth does the power button go instant off, but requires a three second press to turn on???? That's absolutely bass ackwards. Please fix. And Thank You for fixing (ie eliminating) the screen blur on pixel perfect. Great system, love it. But step up the controller support or at least sell your own with a real Joystick like aforementioned Hyperkin Trooper or a good thumbstick like NeoGeo. A Trakball or spinner would hurt either. ... show more

The Evercade Vs. is one fine retro system. The console's price point is excellent and the game carts are plentiful and growing in number ... and at a super "suggested" low price of $19.95. Each cart has multiple games from the early days of video gaming (a few more current games with retro looks and play) ... think Atari, Intellivision, NES, SNES and Genesis and even a few PS1 games. These oldies are all playable in 1080P so be prepared to be surprised at how good they look in 2022 on new TVs. The real pluses for the games are that (1) they are all officially licensed and (2) they are carts that come with color player guides and packaged in plastic cases. I should mention that the included controller(s) are very adequate in terms of comfort and function. The available game carts showcase multiple video game publishers and number currently over 260 games. Carts feature specific gaming publisher content from home or arcade systems. Yes, there are some "duds" but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what game may be "bad" for one person, may be good for another. Suffice it to say the majority of games on each game cart are very good and fun playing examples of yesteryear. Most hold up very well in current times. Lastly, it should be noted that each game can be saved at any time during play as individual carts have 6 separate save spots. There are tons of reviews for the Evercade System and its games all over the web and certainly here on Amazon. If you go to Evercade's (UK) home site, you'll be able to find videos of all games.
