This is a well made powerful scouring pad designed to remove burnt on carbon and corrosion from a grill, griddle and other cooking surfaces. I used this combined with a grill screen to recondition a horrible old corroded and rusted griddle. first step is make a sandwich with the handle, pad and a grill screen and scrub a cold griddle with oil. Scour front to back only for a brighter finish. After removing about 95% or so of the corrosion with a screen on the bottom, remove the screen and use just this and the handle to finish the job which can give a mirror finish if you put the effort into it. One pad will save about 8 square feet of griddle from the scrap yard. Once or twice a week in a high volume restaurant will do the job. For an even brighter shine follow this with a Scotch Brite pad or steel wool but that's not really necessary on a griddle. This will work really well contouring around cooking surfaces that are not flat such as BBQ grills that are all burnt up after a summer of use and abuse and neglect. This will also do a good job cleaning old pots and pans that you might be inclined to give up on. All that said, don't expect these to last forever. For a really burnt up skillet you may wear one pad completely out. So you have to weigh the cost of one pad to the cost of replacing that skillet. To me, using one of these pads to save an old cooking pan is worth the price of one pad. The pan will cost you more to replace. Do not use on Teflon or other non stick surfaces. It will destroy those surfaces. Also, if you use this for cast iron, while it will do well to help get rid of rust, the pan will need to be re seasoned. I recommend using this either wet or with some vegetable oil otherwise the dust will become unbearable.

I NEVER use wire brushes on a grill, because the bristles break off occasionally and you can ingest them, and that my friend will be a huge problem for anyone. I use these to scrape the grill, and then use a wet cloth to wipe down the grates and this cleans them well and safely.

These are a convenient tool to have on hand to do periodic deep scrubbing/cleaning of your flat top grill. One important observation I noticed as soon as I opened the packaging is the scrub pads give off a very finite amount of the scrubbing particles which remain on the grill or any surfaces that you scrub with. It is very important prior to seasoning or cooking is to thoroughly wipe off the cooktop with a light colored damp cloth to be sure any residual remaining bristle material is removed you definitely do not want to eat it. The small particles are the consistency of fiberglass.

I will return this as I believed the pad would adhere, in some form or fashion, to the handle. It DOES NOT. I place the handle on top of the pad and press down firmly since the only way to attach it is the pad connecting and catching on the numerous small little pegs on the bottom of the handle...but it doesn't stay attached for any length of time. The instructions from the manufacturer make no sense but they insist that it will not come off while cleaning as long as one continues to press down firmly. I have tried to use the thing on a cold grill using their instructions and the pad and handle still separate. Imagine what would/could happen on a hot grill. The handle is sturdy enough but poorly designed.

Use this on my Blackstone when needed, and really gets the job done easily! For days when I don't get the cleaning done right after cooking and sugary sticky sauces leave a messy residual, this is great. I turn the burners on high, spray some water on that affected spot(s), and let that steam, then scrub the are with this to get smooth. Rinse this off and good to use again.
