I opened the box and the pawls were not properly aligned with the gear. There was so much movement in the parts that without any load on it the teeth barely touched the gear. This is a failure waiting to happen. I use winches to pull trees when they are at risk of falling on a house. I cant imagine such poor quality control on something rated to lift one or two tons. Don’t buy it, unless you’re tensioning your badminton net in the back yard or something.

Got this puller for lifting heavier loads

Just like most of the other reviews the ratchet teeth don't line up with the hooks. I won't even try using it. A tool made for pulling heavy weight shouldn't be made so poorly it's dangerous. Sending it right back and finding a better one. Good old China!

The pawls don’t line up with the gears and they won’t stay engaged when they do line up. Very frustrating!

I bought this to replace my 50 yr old come along. Just thought it was time. Tried to winch out a shrub. Gears would not catch. When they did they would slip under pressure. Went back to my old one and pulled them out.
