This is a kit that I would have no problem taking with me on a long bicycle tour. It has the reliability of solid pieces and no moving parts (except for the little spring balls that secure the bits into the handle) It has the ability to lengthen the handle and get that extra leverage you might need on occasion without the excessive weight of a long-handled tool. The design is a wonderful balance between being lightweight and also providing a lot of utility and reliability. The round-hex keys are great for finding the right angle to those tough to reach fasteners when you have racks and such in the way of a straight approach. The whole point of this tool is to have something that won't break, packs a punch and isn't adding a lot of weight to your kit. Obviously, switching the bits in and out of the handle is an issue with how easy it is to use, but you already knew that. Potentially losing your bits in some thick grass in the field is another issue, although I would say it's hard since the bits are around two inches long and shiny. Just always have your bits either in the sleeve or in the handle and you'll be fine. When you use the handle as a T for mid-range torque, it's uneven, thus unbalanced and generally would prefer to use two hands, which sometimes you need a free hand for stabilizing the bike out in the field. Overall, the added difficulty of use shouldn't be a problem if you're not using the tool every single day. This thing is about having the capability of getting the job done without excessive weight and this tool set accomplishes that well. The only thing I have yet to feel comfortable commenting on is how strong the material is and whether it will hold up to high-torque without rounding off the corners of the tool head (I'm generally unfamiliar with this style of hex key) or rounding-off the surfaces inside your fastener-heads. I get the feeling with the round multi-angle heads, you're going to have less contact surface with a bolt and are more likely to round off an old bolt that hasn't been loosened in a while and may have a bit of rust weakening it. Last time I checked, sometimes touring can lead to rust on your fasteners. ;-) For now, I'd say this tool is a 5/5 for what it's supposed to accomplish as long as it holds up over time and is usable on older fasteners that are at higher risk for rounding off. ... show more

I bought this a while ago off amazon and just threw it in my bike pack. I actually had to use it on trail the other week and to my surprise the #3 hex was not cut properly. (See pic) You can clearly see in the photo there is a quality control issue. Super disappointed but luckily my buddy had a tool I could borrow. I reached out but did not receive any coorisponance back. I will update if they ever make this right. I would love to give the kit a better rating as it is pretty nice other then the flaw so beware you will roll the dice when you buy this product. I called the service phone number and they sent a new one straight away so I have updated to 4 Stars only because I had to call about it. Otherwise the tool works well just make sure you check all the bits before you throw it in your bag. ... show more

Got to use this on the trail yesterday!!! Got a new saddle and needed to make an adjustment. The main reason I bought this was for leverage. Well, I have it! Worked great! Well worth the price and a quality tool. I'm not a fan of all in one tools. And having the options given with this, is what I have been looking for. For many years I have used Park Tool MT-1 Rescue Wrench. Another great trail proven tool, just didn't have the leverage I need sometimes. Still carry it though!! ... show more

I have had this kit almost four years and finally writing a review. It really is a handy kit in less than wallet size that fits well in your pack or seat/frame bag. The tools cover all I need for repairs/adjustments on the trail. The wallet portion has enough room to stuff a chain tool, spare link, valve core tool and I even keep some small zip tines in case a cable strap is lost. Exactly what you expect. Plenty to leverage to loosen and tighten all the bolts on your bike. Technically you could probably build a bike with only this if you had to.
