  • Use to walk in the neighborhood
I like the length and light weight. Comes with sharp metal points and small snow shields installed. I bought rubber tips from the manufacturer to slip over the metal points. They are tough rubber and work well on the cement and asphault roads/sidewalks in my neighborhood. Look like they will wear a long time before needing replaced. Helps inside the house or shopping too. Rubber tips won't damage floors and are not slippery on floors. Also came with a spare set of sharp metal tips to use on icy roads later this winter. Overall happy with this purchase. Beats using a cane too. ... show more

  • Good Customer Service
My son bought these for a 7 day trek. They were light, collapsible and comfortable. The tip broke off on the final day. We made a mistake and waited to resolve the issue past the standard return window. We contacted Black Diamond and they sent out a replacement part at no charge. Thanks McKenzie from Black Diamond support. ... show more

  • Ultra light, extremely comfortable, but suffered a complete failure within two months
I purchased these in early July 2022 and was extremely happy with them at first. The are extremely light and very comfortable to use and carry for long runs through the mountains of the Colorado Front Range. I am currently training for a 100KM race and was using these two to three times per week for 30-40 miles week of dry, warm running. After each run, I would wipe both poles down with a damp cloth to keep them as dirt and sweat free as possible and then I would store them on a shelf in a dry garage. I stored them separated, but not folded. I am including all of the care information because after about a month of use, the small metal support that keeps the handle in place became extremely difficult to depress and then would stick in the pole once I was able to force it down. I was able to wiggle it out and get the poles locked in place once and kept it that way for two weeks, but the next time I went to depress them both metal supports stuck in the pole and one of the poles will no longer separate at one of the sections. I have been able to get one pole back to functional, but I am nervous about pressing the metal support back in and am leaving it locked in place for now. The other pole is stuck in a half open/half closed state where two of the sections appear to be fused together, but the third is left flapping because the metal support button will not pop out. I have opened a support ticket with Black Diamond but I have gotten no response besides the automated email that said support requests are taking longer than usual to resolve. I hate that these poles have failed because I really liked using them and they have really helped me stay vertical when running over the rocks. However, the durability of these poles does not equate to their cost and there is definitely a design flaw with the locking mechanism that needs to be addressed before I would use or recommend them in the future ... show more

  • Light and easy to stow
A little over tight out of the box making it hard to use the lock but got easier after one run

  • Drop in quality from previous version.
Very disappointed that the straps began to fray in my first venture out with these. My old aluminum pair made the entire John Muir trail with me with nothing but scratches and a bend from saving my life (nearly fell off Whitney). These new carbon poles are super lightweight which is great but with both straps frayed after a single 11 mile hike up and down Mt Adams, I’ll be discussing with Black Diamond... ... show more

  • Lightweight and Sturdy
So far these have been great, I ran Free State 100k and used them due to it being a rocky, technical course, with decent elev gain (6500' over the whole course). These held up great and I have no complaints whatsoever.
