The Black & Decker BDCDMT1206KITC Matrix 6 Tool Combo Kit is powered by a 20-volt MAX motor which provides enough power for a full range of applications and attachments. The 20v Lithium Ion Battery - always ready, and holds a charge up to 18 months. The MATRIX is the best investment I've ever made in my power tool collection. As someone who has owned various power drill/drivers and impact drill/drivers over the years, this kit has completely changed the game. This is my second Black & Decker Matrix drill set. I have been using the Matrix system for more than a year now and love it. So when I needed a second drill for a weekend home, I didn't hesitate to pick up another Matrix set. The system itself works great for DIY projects. The attachments are easily connected and swapped out as needed. The base unit fits well in your hand and is not so heavy that you tire when having to hold it for long periods of time. I like the variety of attachments in this particular set and others, like a trim saw, are available if you want to add to the system. The 20v battery holds a charge for a long time between uses and is easily swapped out if you pick up a spare for longer working times on a project. The Matrix system is especially nice in homes where space is at a premium - you get a wide selection of tools without having to store full size versions of each tool. The case is ok - there is a designated space for each tool carved out of the interior plastic lining and there are separate owners manual for each item. There isn't any room to store additional tools so plan to pick up a tool bag if you like to carry additional items along with your drill. This is an exceptional set for DIYers and a great way to have tools like a router or jigsaw on hand without having to buy and store full size versions of each tool. The Matrix system by Black & Decker is excellent and worth checking out "a la carte" if this particular set does not have the tools that you need. ... show more

Style: 6-Tool Combo Kit
So I do apartment maintenance for three communities and I use all these essential tool on a regular basis. Recently I had several of my power tools stolen so I went ahead and purchased this set for its versatility. I will say that this will not perform like your top brand power tools but this kit will absolutely help with GETTING THE JOB DONE. The jigsaw does work but it cuts really slow. But it does work. The sander works alright for basic sanding but I wouldn't use it for a clean detailed sand. The drill and impact drill both work flawlessly for me. I drilled one deadbolt out with the drill and I used the impact for a framing project I was on. I had low hopes for the oscillating buzz tool but I was able to rip right through concrete plaster while making clean line cuts. I must say that attachment has me impressed. I haven't had a chance to use the router yet so the next time I need to cut some hinge holes I'll update about it. Overall I'm very very impressed with the matrix and I'm considering buying the other attachments soon. I've been in construction most of my life and the pros will always tell you that black&decker is not the best and I can agree for the most part except when it comes to this kit. There's nothing like it for what it is. This is perfect for a homeowner or someone getting into the building or repair trade as a starting kit. So lets get this out of the way, this in no way is a professional grade set, nor does it claim to be. That does not mean that it isnt an excellent support tool/side tool. Not to mention it is about perfect for a handyman that is working around the house. I purchased during prime day for $129 as an "around the house" tool for my mother. I have a makita 18 volt set that i use. It so happened that we ended up putting it right to use replacing the supports for the back awning. Drill: The drill is probably the tool that we will end up using the least, its only around 900 rpm and if you're sinking screws or simply setting fasteners its fine. Again, it will be fine for any around the house drill needs aside from metal or concrete. Edit 1: we have gotten to put a considerable amount of time on the drill now, and i must say, it has impressed me a little more in the past utilization. It can be used to drill through up to 1/8th inch aluminum at least, just take your time and use lubricant. It also sets fasteners just fine even in thicker wood. My initial observation hasnt really changed, but it does get the job done. Impact: was very impressed with the impact, it quickly and efficiently set any screw or bolt we needed in both wood, and 8th inch aluminum. I believe its somewhere in the range of 1300 pounds of torque. It does have some vibration, but far from unbearable Multi-Tool: Disclaimer: though it has an easy to use quick connect, it appears to have some sort of proprietary locking holes. We had bought a few replacement blades from other brands. The locking lugs line up, but the male side on the multi-tool were just too big to lock into place. In addition the vibration is extremely heavy. Those issues aside, it works great and is easier on the battery that i had assumed. (Sander for multi-tool) though small this, sander bit works really well, the pads it comes with are not high quality, but sand effectively. The bit itself holds the paper almost too well. So hopefully that means it is going to hold up over time Router: unused, will update with experience. Update 1: had planned to test this tool this time around as well. However, im sad to report that it is the only tool(literally) that does not come ready to use. No router bits are supplied. With research, i have found that it utilizes a 1/4" shank. It also is dependent on the trigger of the base to operate, so if you hoped to use it on a router table, you will be disappointed. Mouse Sander: holds on to paper very well, but they are also easily removed. Sanding pressure is applied faily evenly across the whole base. Again, included paper is not high quality, but work well enough. This sander does not come with the corner attachment that the stand alone mouse sander does, but it is capable of using it if you were to purchase it separately. Jigsaw: we compared this to the stand alone jigsaw by Black + Decker. The lack of weight makes this one harder to use and make accurate cuts in wood 1" or more. However, take your time and purchase an upgraded blade and you should be more than satisfied with results. This jigsaw does accept both traditional and T- shank blades, so finding an upgraded blade should not be an issue. Overall its an excellent tool for any handyman, we did pick up 2 extra batteries, which brings me to the biggest downfall of this set. Theres only one battery and it takes almost 4 full hours to charge from dead. Which is not cohesive to even moderate projects, will definitely be worth picking up a few extra batteries and/or a fast charger. ... show more

Came with a dead battery (would not take a charge) but Amazon support helped get me a replacement battery right away. Every tool still worked exactly as it should. I use this thing every weekend and even got a few more attachments for it like the reciprocating saw and mini circular saw and couldn't be happier. maybe consider ordering 1 or 2 extra batteries too because this is the all in one power tool and a single battery doesn't always make it all the way through my projects. ... show more

Matrix Tools have been Excellent for me. I'm not a professional, but I use Matrix tools for a lot of home repairs/remodeling. I wanted to buy DeWalt, but could not afford them, and now I'm glad. These Matrix attachments all have worked for several years with ZERO breakdowns. All attachments work well, but the reciprocating saw, impact driver, small circular saw, and small hedge trimmer have been especially good tools that work better than I expected. The impact driver will easily put a 3 inch long 1/4 inch wood screw into pine easily with no predrilled pilot hole. Matrix tools are the best value of all the tools I own. I recommend multiple batteries and Black and Decker's fast charger. With two backup batteries, one always charging, I can go all day without being out of battery power. I love this set. ... show more

Does the job and is handy to have all your power tools at arms reach instead of all over the bench or on the floor in the way if you're working in a confined area. Set is well built and compact. 20v tools are generally strong enough for anything the average person will need to do. The mounting mechanism for the accessory attachments has a strong spring to lock them in/on, so no worries about things coming apart while in use. I like it so well I bought all the other attachments except the air compressor. I have a couple little pumps if need be and don't see myself in a position to need one where I don't have power or a vehicle to use. Neat idea for some, but it won't blow enough air to be useful clearing an area or part. I'm fairly impressed Black & Decker has stepped up with an affordable power-tool kit that seems tough enough for any handyman around the house, or even in your personal vehicle for an occasional after-hours quick call-out on the job. Everything in one box without having to carry your big tool box weighing 50-75 lbs or more. A pretty neat idea for portable power-tools I've come to appreciate. If you want to at least pretend that you re handy, you must have it. I have been abusing this set for a while. When I say abuse, I mean, I would run it continuously for hours, battery after battery (I have 4 * 2HA and 2 * 4AH), refinishing stairs. I ended up buying the Sawzall attachment and 10-inch blades to trim tree branches. I am slightly disappointed with the vibrating cutoff attachment but after hours of abuse I really cannot complain. I have Makita, Hitachi, and Dewalt tools; but, when I have something quick to do, this is the tool I go to first. By the way, it does not have adjustable speed but, the clutch is definitely more adjustable/sensitive in tiny torques then other of my tools. When you back it down to 1 it will not strip the power outlet screws, but when in the drill mode you can go into hardwood with a 1/2-inch bit (the drill accepts only 3/8" but there are drill bits made for that) without any problems. ... show more
