Style: 6-Tool Combo Kit
Does the job and is handy to have all your power tools at arms reach instead of all over the bench or on the floor in the way if you're working in a confined area. Set is well built and compact. 20v tools are generally strong enough for anything the average person will need to do. The mounting mechanism for the accessory attachments has a strong spring to lock them in/on, so no worries about things coming apart while in use. I like it so well I bought all the other attachments except the air compressor. I have a couple little pumps if need be and don't see myself in a position to need one where I don't have power or a vehicle to use. Neat idea for some, but it won't blow enough air to be useful clearing an area or part. I'm fairly impressed Black & Decker has stepped up with an affordable power-tool kit that seems tough enough for any handyman around the house, or even in your personal vehicle for an occasional after-hours quick call-out on the job. Everything in one box without having to carry your big tool box weighing 50-75 lbs or more. A pretty neat idea for portable power-tools I've come to appreciate. I was going to buy a couple of tool accessories for my 7-8 year old Black & Decker Matrix 20V lithium drill. Saw this kit and thought "this is a great buy. So darn you Black & Decker, I so so need this right now. Ok ok I actually don't need it. I WANT THIS. I guess thats honestly all that really matters. The circular saw, sander and drill attachment came with my older Matrix which was or has been really handy for many projects. Looking forward to using the jig, router and oscillating saw attachments, i was about to buy individually. Buying those 3 would nearly matched the price of this kit which has all 6 attachments. It has been very handy, usefull just swapping between the drill to the circular saw then the sander back to drill etc. I do think a lot of people should put thier faith in Black & Decker products. I've used B&D for decades. Think only two real issues, complaint I have is the 3 3/8" circular saw blade isn't quite large enough when cutting 2x4 without a second pass on the back side. My next buy will likely be the 5 1/4" B&D 20V circular saw. I'm thinking that would be fairly handy but the 3 3/8" is still very handy for smaller boards 1x6, 1x8, and plywood sheets . Great for book shelves and cabinets and other small home projects. Second issue is the the 1.5 Ah battery which doesn't last long enough. 15-20 minute run time on most projects. A 4 Ah works really well as does having multiple battery packs. I would like to see new B&D products coming with larger 20V AH battery packs. That 1.5 Ah has been around a very long time while handy and light weight it just doesn't have the run time that people really need. Honestly anything under a 3 Ah 20V lithium these days is well a decade out dated. Oh and now I have a 2nd Matrix drill which I can have set up so I don't need to be swapping attachments as often. This is my second Black & Decker Matrix drill set. I have been using the Matrix system for more than a year now and love it. So when I needed a second drill for a weekend home, I didn't hesitate to pick up another Matrix set. The system itself works great for DIY projects. The attachments are easily connected and swapped out as needed. The base unit fits well in your hand and is not so heavy that you tire when having to hold it for long periods of time. I like the variety of attachments in this particular set and others, like a trim saw, are available if you want to add to the system. The 20v battery holds a charge for a long time between uses and is easily swapped out if you pick up a spare for longer working times on a project. The Matrix system is especially nice in homes where space is at a premium - you get a wide selection of tools without having to store full size versions of each tool. The case is ok - there is a designated space for each tool carved out of the interior plastic lining and there are separate owners manual for each item. There isn't any room to store additional tools so plan to pick up a tool bag if you like to carry additional items along with your drill. This is an exceptional set for DIYers and a great way to have tools like a router or jigsaw on hand without having to buy and store full size versions of each tool. The Matrix system by Black & Decker is excellent and worth checking out "a la carte" if this particular set does not have the tools that you need. ... show more
