    • Remove plug adapter, but worked great on 2011 Ford F150.
I installed this on a 2011 F150 with towing package, but no brake controller. At first I thought it wouldn't fit, but it comes with a connector adapter that I had to remove. Then it was super easy to cut the zip tie holding the wire harness under the dash after removing the 2 screws above the gauge cluster, then the 2 screws holding the vent/coin tray by adjusting the steering wheel angle when necessary to remove the panels. I then reinstalled panels, 4 screws, included relays & fuses, and programmed (enabled brake controller) with ForScan and an OBD2 to USB adapter. Definitely can recommend. ... show more

2014 f150 fx4 owner. Replaced my OEM brake controller due to the buttons being stuck. Every possible problem and part professionally checked/tested/and computer enabled more than once! After endless trips to vehicle repair shops, the dealer I bought my trailer, getting help from friends and even now…after just paying 175.00 at ford to ENSURE it was correctly “enabled” the controller still sends a “trailer disconnected” warning. Lights work, slide lever works, but I get nothing when I hit the brakes! Beyond frustrated!!!! I wouldn’t give this product for free to someone I disliked ! 0 likes! Do not buy!!!!!!!!! ... show more

After 10 months of chasing down a “trailer disconnect” warning and replacing everything else in the trailer wiring system I installed a factory ford brake controller and now it works perfectly. No more not identifying the trailer or strange braking on the trailer. It works, but not great.

This product arrived in great packaging and installed easily! I was able to activate it using Forscan, but you may need to take yours to a dealer to activate the system after the install. Works as it should!

Easy to install. You still need to buy Forscan cable to hookup to a laptop and your vehicle so you can enable your trailer brake system.
