I've always owned a pair of birks. I love them! They're so comfortable (especially the soft footbed - totally recommend this!), plus I think they've become fashionable (wasn't so sure about that 20 years ago). In terms of sizing I'm usually a 6.5-7 and I wear a 37 in birks. True to size. I learned early on that yes, you can get away with a narrow size (unless you have a really wide foot) but you wont know true comfort unless you get the normal /medium width. It'll feel pretty roomy at first, but it's amazing how your feet will spread- especially in the warmer weather. (For reference, I'm sure I have an average width foot - they're certainly not narrow, nor are they wide). Give 'em a try. You won't regret it.

The following conversion chart is a general guideline to determine your size. Your exact size will ultimately depend on the structure of your individual foot and the style of the shoe. It is for your reference only. Please make sure your exact size before placing your order! Sizes and widths BIRKENSTOCK provides most of its shoes in two different widths. - regular - narrow Sometimes shoes are only available in one width which corresponds to a regular (normal) wide foot. You can choose between: regular width which fits all normal feet and narrow width which fits narrow/slender feet. Medium is in between both widths. The difference between regular and narrow width is approx. 0.2 mm in the back and approx. 7 mm in the front. All shoes are measured in metric sizes. Ordered actual birkenstocks this time because my last (much cheaper) knockoff pair ripped apart one day after only having them for a few months. These sandals were expensive for me, but they are great quality. I got a size 37 M because I am a 6.5-7 in US women's sizes and don't have narrow feet. They fit perfectly and the color, taupe suede, was exactly as presented online.

I've always wanted the Arizona's, but hesitated for years. I've been wearing the thong style birks and I love them, but when they finally wore out this year I decide to get finally get a pair of Arizonas. I'm so glad I did. I decided to go with tan suede because they go with everything. I wear a size 7, but ordered a size down and am very glad I did. The only complaint I have is that the straps are a little loose. My sister has a pair of Arizonas, but she got leather and they're perfectly snug so I think it's the suede that makes this pair loose. I'm keeping them -- like I said, I love them, but maybe I'll get a pair of leather Arizonas, too. I mean, how many pairs of birks is too many?? :)

I'm so glad Birkenstock's are in style right now, because they are so comfortable to wear. These shoes allow you to be on trend, but comfortable at the same time. This is my third pair. I like the softer footbed, as they are comfortable right out of the box. The leather is very soft, and I appreciate that the straps are adjustable, which allows you to customize the fit somewhat. The only thing not perfect about them is that the straps don't seem to provide enough support, and my foot moves around in the footbed a little. Not enough to be a problem, but I wish they fit more snugly. I ordered my regular size, and the next size down would be too small. I think this is because the footbed on the regular is wider than most other shoes. Still experimenting with the straps to see if I can make the fit more stable. Other than that, they are perfect. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I’m almost always a size 7 in shoes and I got a 37N (6-6.5 Normal Width) after reading reviews about them running about a half size big. I was concerned about them not fitting and the hassle of the possible return, but they fit perfectly. I’m breaking them in slowly but already they’re pretty comfortable. Love the arch support. My first pair of Birkenstock’s and it’s worth it.

Most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!!! These were instantly soft and molded right to my feet.No breaking in necessary! I walked several miles in a rugged park two days after I received them and never felt any soreness or discomfort and could have kept right on walking! I recommend these to everyone and in fact,I think anyone who doesn't own these is missing out!
