I wear US size 9- 9 1/2 European 39 so I ordered according to the directions 9-9 1/2. I could have probably done all right in a 40 but It was a 41 and so really an 11. Order according to your true European size.....which they probably are out of. Thankfully I can easily return thru amazon.

Its been nearly 40 years since I've purchased a pair of Birkenstock sandals - boy did I miss out! The soft foot bed and the fit are great! I wore these from the moment of delivery until I was forced to take them off to go to bed! Got up, did my chores and loved the comfort and arch support. Had been wearing Orthaheel sandals for my low arches. Grew tired of the rubbing of the between the toe connection. These sandals provide the same arch support and feel much more substantial on my feet! As per sizing - interesting as the listing says "Women's shoes" but the box clearly listed 10 M as the size - 43 in Euro-speak. Couldn't be happier! ... show more

I was confused that the shoe didn't say Birkenstock but Papillio instead. Then I found out that it is a newer line of Birkenstock for women. Papillio means butterfly. They fit great and have a wonderful arch support. I would definitely buy again!

I was looking for a shoe to wear when hanging outside with my kids or running quick errands. I love these because they are versatile, comfortable, and I'm hoping, long lasting. I've tried to purchase birkenstocks before but didn't realize they came in narrow sizes. The narrow size was a game changer for me! I will say, they require some time to wear in. I texted and received an immediate reply about my concerns of the dual message of men's and women's shoe. I was told I would receive a woman's shoe. I received, instead men's shoes. I went back to the order and tried again to reorder a woman's shoe. The same messages came up that I would receive a men's. While the shoes are unisex, the sizes are not interchangeable and the shoes were waaaaay too big because of my receiving the men's size. ... show more
