Birkenstocks are by far the best shoes for my long bony flat feet, and Gizehs have been my very favorite sandals for years and years; I've lost count how many pairs I have owned. The design holds my foot as securely as though it had a backstrap, while also being wonderfully cool since there is so little skin coverage. What is new with this pair of Gizehs is that they are completely made of EVA, and my mind was blown the second I took them out of the box: they are practically weightless! Putting them on, I was struck just as hard by how flexible they are. Unlike the cork footbeds, there will be no breaking-in needed. They feel perfectly heavenly. Plus, the EVA Birkis clogs I've had have been incredibly durable, so I anticipate these will be too. And hey: WATERPROOF!! I can't imagine why Birkenstock doesn't sell these EVA versions of Gizehs (and some of their other classic sandals) through US companies yet, but I have great news: the pair I ordered through Amazon from Shoe Gress in Germany got here 11 days before the *beginning* of the time period I was told to expect them! ... show more

My first Birkenstock shoes. I thought I would try these since most flip flops don't stay on very well and I wear flip flops every day around the house. The shoes stay in place when you walk, no hanging on by your toes. Feet don't slide around in the shoe and the arch support is very nice. These are just as expected and are extremely comfortable. I have a slightly narrow foot and am a size 7.5 so I ordered women's narrow/medium in 38. Perfect for my foot. Will wear them for the pool and beach and to go to market, around the house, probably everywhere. Will eventually try some other Birkenstocks. To think I used to mock people who wore Birkenstocks. I have wore two pairs Birkenstocks for about 9 years and both pair needed to be replaced this summer. This sandals are great to wear with shorts or linen pants for a more dresser look. I wear a 10 1/2 to an 11 woman size shoe the with 41EU my foot sits nicely in the sandal. Don't ware them in the rain, that's what messed the last pair up. The cork did not hold up well. I am not sure if it is because they were old and wore or if I ever wore them in the rain before. But I love them. When first walking in Birkenstocks your feet and legs will hurt, I think the sandals tones the calves legs. Within a few days you will not want to take them off. I know I can go the whole summer in them...wish they made a sport sandal... ... show more
