This is my third pair of Birkenstocks. I started wearing Birkenstocks back in 1993 when I acquired a nice vegetarian girlfriend who had been wearing them for years. Despite the teasing from my friends (who were not from the same Marin County enclave of semi-reformed hippiedom that I was) my feet instantly loved the shoes. I seem to go through a pair of these every 10 years or so. This is daily use, frequently in difficult conditions with dirt, brush, water, and rocks. With a little bit of care these sandals will last forever. With my use pattern the sandals disintegrate after about 10 years. I retire them with honor and buy another pair. This is my second pair of these sandals, and they are all I wear. The first pair lasted over 4 years wearing them 365 days a year. I was not used to a good arch support at first, and could only wear them for an hour or so before I had to take them off. But as my feet adjusted to the arch support, I found my feet and back did not hurt as much while wearing the shoes. ... show more

    • 6 years! Great for wide feet
I’ve had these for 6 years, and they’re still going strong! Def not as nice as they initially were, but they are solid shoes and I used them almost exclusively every day every summer. I’ve now transitioned to a different pair, but I keep these as a back up. 100% worth every penny.

Superb sandals. These are a must for people looking for a comfy, lifelong footwear. They fit perfectly and I was so happy! Would purchase these again in the future. I ordered 8-8.5 and had to return them because they were way too big. I usually wear that size do I had to get smaller ones

I ordered the wrong size for the Birkenstocks! They were way too large for my feet…..my error! The method for returning them was very easy to work out. The communication with the company was well managed and easy to handle, and now hopefully those Birkenstocks are being enjoyed by someone else, with bigger feet than I have. ... show more
