I'll be honest, when I used to think about Birkenstock sandals, the image of a stereotypical hippie popped into my head. But the Gizeh sandal has definitely altered my perspective on the brand. Not only are they ridiculously comfortable (I was on my feet for 8 hours straight in them and never felt so much as a twinge) but I get compliments on how cute they are all the time. I'm normally a US size 7 but Amazon recommended I size down to a 6 (37 M in EU) and I'm really glad I did - they fit perfectly. The Mocha color goes with pretty much everything I own and, since I first put them on, I haven't really worn anything else. These were well worth the money I spent on them and Birkenstock has earned themselves a loyal customer in me.

So I had mixed feelings about these when they came. First of all, they are so cute, lightweight and perfect for summer. Second, breaking them in is very painful! The thong on the sandal is very hard and rubs uncomfortably when you walk. I debated returning them for this reason. I usually wear a size ten, but after reading reviews I decided to order the size 40 (9-9.5) These fit like a glove, but I almost felt like they were a tad too small width wise. Now keep in mind, all these complaints are still day one. The sole of the sandal is expected to be stiff until it forms to your foot, so keep that in mind. By day three, these started to feel comfortable and were not painful to wear. I also feel like my thoughts on them being " a tad too small" disappeared after the break in period. If you can deal with the break in period, these sandals are worth it. For those questioning authenticity, these are genuine Birkenstocks, made in Germany.

I wear a 12 wide so I love these birks because they accommodate my wide feet. Want to break them in. They mold to your feet and are very comfortable. The first few times you wear them. They are a little firm. It's generally not a good idea to get them wet frequently, but occasionally doesn't seem to do any harm. They tend to last me about two summers wearing them almost daily.

Birkenstocks are possibly the most comfortable shoes. They're my go-to and can go with almost outfit. I wear them everywhere: my yoga class, the grocery store, and even to pick my kids up from school. Being a mom, I need shoes that are not only stylish but something that provides comfort and helps me get through the day. These sandals defiantly get the job done. The support that these sandals provide are amazing and I feel as if they're more comfortable than sneakers. I've had days were I've been standing or walking the whole time and my feet have never bothered me because these shoes are just that comfortable. The quality of these shoes is also amazing as they are made with high quality cork and leather and some of my pairs have lasted me years without looking damaged. I particularly like this style because it's just so stylish and easy to throw on. I recommend this to everyone in need of a comfortable, stylish shoe.

I have worn these for hours and yet they have not conformed to my feet. I think there is a defect. On the right, there is a bulging right at the top of the ball of my foot that hurts like a mother.
