    • Good quality, but not what they used to be
Birkenstocks used to be the high-quality designer shoe for backpackers and hippies. They still look nice, but the foot bed is not constructed nearly as well as they were in the 90s and 00s. The foot bed is softer (a new design), and not as durable. In addition, the leather strap the tightens the shoe on your foot is not durable. The leather stretches easily, and the shoes don't have the durability for which Birkenstocks are known. I love the style, and they are durable enough for my occasional use, but Birkenstocks are not what they used to be. ... show more
