The Birkenstock mocha suede is one of my favorites among the 150 or more pairs I own. The suedes are all soft and don't require any breaking in time. However the footbeds just become more and more comfortable as they are worn. The reason I like the mocha so much is the color. It is a very deep brown - darker than the picture here. It goes with so many things and always looks nice. I like the wide (Birk. REGULAR) if I'm wearing socks, and the NARROW (still plenty wide if anyone has never worn Birkenstocks before) for wearing without socks. I find trading off between the two widths also gives my feet a different experience as the arch support is different. If my feet are tired, the more pronounced arch support in the REGULAR feels great. I've worn no other shoes but Birkenstocks for about 14 years now, and I hope I might be considered trendy in them in a few decades when I'm 90. ... show more

Size is not typical. I've been wearing birks for over 13 years, a 42 should fit me it is supposed to be a unisex shoe. I recieved a ladies shoe where a 42 equates to a men's 9 but I specifically ordered from the men's section. Tried to save a few bucks but will just go buy b them directly from a store now.
