  • one of my all-time favorites
This product is absolutely indispensable in our household. Here is the history of how we first met: When I decided to do cloth diapers for my daughter, I read that the Bac-Out (UPDATE 9/12**I DID NOT USE THIS PRODUCT BUT THE STAIN REMOVER, AND ONLY ONE SMALL SQUIRT IN A LOAD OF LAUNDRY**) is super in the wash for getting out any of the stains/odors. I found it in our local grocery store as well as in Wild Oats. It worked! Like a charm, too! I loved the clean smell it left the diapers with. (Cloth diapering is, in and of itself, a whole chapter so I won't go into any further details for the review.) (**BIOKLEEN BAC OUT NOW HAS A DEDICATED LAUNDRY LINE**) Then, our infant daughter pooped all over the carpet floor while we were carrying her from the bath to the changing table. It was the horrible, newborn stuff and we had no idea how to get it out of the carpet. Well, after 20 minutes of scrubbing, I was stumped at how I could get the rest of the stain out. I poured on Bac-Out on it, left it for 10 minutes and it was like it had taken care of itself. Nothing left. There was no stain or odor left. Then, we got a puppy who pooped and peed alot in the house. Every time, I pulled out the Bac-Out since it had worked so well on the carpet the first time. With the pee, I'd use a towel to soak the excess, then pour Bac-Out on it and literally walk away. Oh, I forgot to mention, I'd put a towel on top so little feet wouldn't track dirt onto the wet area, but that's it. No smell, no stain (well, no color stain...there would still be a water-stain on the backside of the rugs). We moved to a different state where I could no longer find Bac-Out so I tried numerous other pet-stain treatments and removers. None worked half as well. So, I finally broke down and decided to have it shipped from amazon. This new bottle has a spray top on it which I actually like better. And, FINALLY, I can treat the puppy accidents (we bought another puppy) and the little boy potty-training accidents. It really does break down the odor causing particles with enzymes, I think, because nothing else works nearly as well. I'm so glad I can at least find this on amazon ... show more

  • MILK BE GONE! AND IT HAS! HA!
Simply put. The BEST Odor remover i have ever witnessed in my life.... here's my story My son was in my back seat and we were driving to school. We stopped for a quick breakfast which included a bottle of milk. Well he forgot to put it in his cup holder and i needed to stop short. the bottle lauched off my leather seat, slid under the front seat and exploded... leaving Milk EVERYWHERE under the seat (about 16 oz worth).. I dropped him off at school, went to a local gas station, bought 2 gallons of water and flushed the floorboards and the underseat area, and then vaccumed it up. The next morning, the smell was Horrific.. So i then attempted to clean it with some Bissel Carpet cleaner that had enzymes and a "lovley lavendar scent"... Scrubbed, cleaned doused ETC the heck out of the area.. The next morning i had lavendar esque Rotten milk stench..The preceeding day, after much research, i found this Product that was touted by babymamma's and carpet people across the globe. So i said, lets try it.. Fired up my prime account, orderd it up overnight and it was there the afternoon of the Lavendar Stench. I sprayed i would say an 1/8th of a 32 oz bottle on the floor, under the seat, the bottom of the seat in the floor vent.. the whole dealy.. The next morning.. my car smelled of Lime jello, and NO milk smell.. 3 days later, in 95 degree closed window heat, Still, No milk smell.. The Lime jello-ness faded over the following days, leaving behind the "freshest smelling Car" i think i have ever owned. To really test the product, i also Doused my Nissan xterra that has seen many a sweaty dude after sports practice, fishing, etc etc etc. I cleaned the truck out and was left with a musty, gym sock stench.. I tried Febreeze..No go.. I spraye this stuff in the same manner as febreeze, came back a day later.. Lime jello.. 3 days later in the heat, Smells Fresh, Clean, and My ride is no longer a rolling stinkpot! Hope my review helps! its the ONLY one i really have ever done! IF that tell you anything about this product! ... show more

  • Great, but like any good cleaner, you have to help it.
I LOVE this spray. I've been using it for years and highly recommend it. I use this on cat and dog stains in rugs or on carpet. Three big things you need to remember if you want this to work: 1) Dab away as much of the stain moisture as possible 2) Make sure you get the stain when it FIRST happens, not the 2nd or 3rd time or it will be hard to break your pet of the habit 3) Saturate the stain with Bac-Out, making sure you spray a bigger circle of bac-out than the stain is so you get an splatter from the pet mess You do really need to let this soak the stain if you want it to clean it out and destroy the pet enzymes. If it is on a rug, spray it and let it sit for a good 10-15 minutes or more. Clean the stain, dab off any excess moisture and smell it or use a blacklight. You may have to spray more than once, but it will actually take all of the stain out, unlike other pet stain cleaners. If it is on a rug, try to flip the rug and get the bottom as well. Most of them will do little more than mask the smell so that you can hope the pet doesn't go again. I also recommend you close off the area where the stain is for a few days to keep the pet from re-marking the spot. If they found that spot to start with, it was for a reason and they need to stay away from it until the bac-out has completely destroyed the stain. Lastly, after you are completely done cleaning, let the sun help keep it clean. Sunlight seems to help. ... show more
