It helps when the artist is a piano player, so the tunes themselves are already great, and work well for turning them into solo pieces. My favorite one in here is "Lullaby/Goodnight my Angel". Try to play it without tearing up. They also are perfect for playing at the medical center I volunteer at, because they are songs that people know, and arrangements that aren't too wild and crazy. ... show more

Great arrangements for piano. Beautifully done. If you are a beginner this book is not for you. With a little practice for an advanced pianist this book is perfect. I am so glad I purchased it.

I was hoping these would be more advanced and interesting arrangements, but they were pretty standard and easy. I wish they would include photos of the actual music in the item description!

    • Hoping for more of a different take

These are nice arrangements in a wide variety of "classical" styles - unfortunately, most of the songs themselves are Billy's most classical-sounding pieces ANYWAY, so there's not a whole lot of stylistic difference! I was disappointed in "And So It Goes," especially - this arrangement hardly adds anything new. BUT. Keveren's take on "Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)" is absolutely GORGEOUS. The original version of this song always brings me to tears; playing this Chopin-inspired arrangement completely wrecks me emotionally. Bravo. I'm also enjoying "C'etait Toi (You Were the One)." Difficulty level is advanced intermediate - just right for a 50-something fan who's only played off and on since high school. I'd like to see more of Billy's pieces arranged in this fashion - how about "All For Leyna" and "Miami 2017"? ... show more

    • Arrangements are way too "busy"

It's rare for me to leave a rating, good or bad, but I must in this instance. I'm an experienced choir, vocal and solo accompanist, playing for over 60 years. I'm only keeping this book for one arrangement, "Lullaby" ("Goodnight My Angel") because I can't find it anywhere else. I wish I could play by ear but, alas not. The arrangements are too busy, too much flourish. There are even a few in "Piano Man" and too many in "Lullaby" where less would be more, so to speak. These bursts of multiple notes or sustained runs in both hands really detract from the pieces. I can just leave a lot of that stuff out but many others may not be able to. If you're not an experienced pianist, this book will be extremely frustrating. I will not be ordering any more from this arranger. ... show more
