I have bought multiple BigAlex canes and can say the quality really stands up, in general. Compared to the more expensive BigAlex canes (adjustable led light models) THIS base model has a higher quality led light than others. The more expensive BigAlex has a buggy led light- While the handle is more comfortable to grip, it should be noted that CANES DO FALL DOWN. And when they do fall down, the higher priced BigAlex canes with the led light can break off where the adjustable joint is at. One fall is all it takes to break the led. However, THIS MODEL of BigAlex has a more sturdy handle/grip on it, it is not adjustable but it has been proven to be UNBREAKABLE. Also noted was the more expensive BigAlex canes can also short out easily, as one of mine just started smoking one day. (the circuit burned up) Thus two of the higher priced models had leds/grips that stopped working within weeks of my purchase. THIS model of BigAlex has an unbreakable grip on it, one that can and will survive hard falls without breaking or the batteries shorting out. However, THIS model of BigAlex has a PLASTIC foot on it, while the more expensive BigAlex has the Ankle #3, which is made of all aluminum instead of plastic.... Which means if one wants the very best BigAlex, just swap the plastic foot ankle #2, of this model, for an aluminum base/ankle #3 from the higher up model. The very best quality can be found with this way. Ankle #3 is a bit tougher! By combining such parts one can have one of the toughest led canes on the market. I am happy with my cane with the ankle #3 design. It stands very easily as well. This model has outperformed all of my other canes. In fact, I'm buying another one of these right now. I bought my cane in Dec 2019. I love this cane and this company. I have many canes that I use. I even bought a few for different holidays. However, my Big Alex is my go-to cane. I feel more secure and stable when I walk. I have Parkinson's and I was upset when my doctor told me I had to start using a cane. After I stopped arguing, I decided to embrace my "inner cane" so I was looking for something that was stable and easy to use. The fact that it stands up is a big bonus. I can't use quad canes and putting those rubber quad tips makes the cane too heavy for me. My cane broke. The bottom came off and wouldn't stay on. I sent an email to the company since I was within the one year guarantee. They got back to me that night and are sending a replacement cane as soon as possible. What a great company. I may have to purchase a second Big Alex in a different color just to have a variety. I would recommend this cane to anyone that needs a cane. The light is an added bonus when I take my dog for a walk when it is getting dark. I can't wait to receive my new cane. ... show more

I bought this cane for my wife. She has cancer and CKD. Doctors recommended that she should walk for exercise. She began to feel unstable on her walks so she stopped going. As a solution I bought this cane for her. She loves it! She told me that it is very stable, she likes how the cane pivots on the foot to give her stability. So she can go on her walks safely. One day she came back from her walk and told me something happened to her cane and a part fell off, didn't know what happened, looked for the part but couldn't find it. I contacted the seller to ask if we could get the missing part and soon after they replied that would send us a new cane and came quickly!!! Pros: Lightweight. Foldability is good. I love the color red. Cons: Not so stable. Sometimes it doesn't stand on its own and it falls over easily. It didn't come with batteries so I can't comment on light.

Glad I got this cane. The light is very helpful (dark rooms and outside) and the feet help with stability. A little tag on the leash lets you write your contact info. Friends wanted to know where I got it. Physical therapist helped me set the right height. Only quibble is the battery Compartment/canister wants to wiggle its way out as you're using it. So i try to keep a finger on that which helps so it doesn't fall out/get lost but becomes one more little thing you have to think about when trying to become as confident and stable as possible. ... show more
