Had my doubts about these Bifocals. I previously purchased Progressive Readers that turned out to be a flop. Progressives are too confusing. These bifocals have plenty of transparence for distance viewing, The magnification is not intrusive, but nice for reading text when you need it. Very nice, Revised Review: I just discovered that one pair is just readers and not bifocals. I did go back and look at the description that states one of the pairs is just readers and not bifocals. Regardless, I felt tricked. It seems obvious to me that someone shopping for bifocals would not want one pair to be readers. This appears to me as a deceptive tactic. I bought the three pack , two regular and on sunglasses. The sunglasses are cheap and not readers and only one of the pair are bifocal readers. Sorry not how I read it, felt like it was misrepresented. Returned all.

First things first: If you don't examine the listing carefully, you might think you're getting two pairs of bifocals. In fact, you get one pair of bifocals, and the other glasses are standard magnifiers. When you get to a certain age, if you aren't wearing glasses already, you almost certainly are using magnifying lenses to read the fine print. And, the older you get, the more print that seems like fine print :-) These glasses add blue light blocking to the magnifying functionality. The topic of blue light blocking in glasses is hotly debated. Proponents assert that blue light blockers can help with a variety of issues, such as: * Reduction of headaches * Reduced eyestrain * Better sleep through the increased natural production of melatonin Some studies suggest a correlation between blue light-blocking glasses and some/all of the above. There are, however, many studies that have failed to find a significant correlation. I'd say the jury is out. The one thing everyone probably agrees upon is that even if they don't help, they can't hurt. So a lot of people now use them. These are only partial blue blockers, so they do not fully eliminate blue light, and colors look normal when you wear them. I can see a blue tinge when light is reflected off the lenses to indicate that they do have blue blocking ability. These glasses are very light. They are entirely made of plastic, and I don't expect they would hold up to the rigors of abuse, but if you treat them with kindness, you can get a decent amount of life out of them. They have reversible hinges so they can push outward at the hinges for those with wide faces. In the kit you get: 1 x magnifying blue blocker glasses 1 x bi-focal magnifying blue blocker glasses 2 x lanyards for glasses 1 x dust cloth 1 x plastic container to hold it all. Because the glasses are so light, I found them comfortable for extended wear. The lenses seem accurate enough to be used for reading. They're reasonably attractive (see photos). Pros: ** Both magnifying and blue blockers ** Lenses accurate enough to read with ** Light ** Reasonably attractive Cons: ** Only one pair of glasses is bifocals ** Bifocal (magnifying) lenses are only in the bottom quarter of the lense, not fully across the bottom ** Somewhat expensive compared to competition since you only get one set of bifocal lenses ... show more
