This is much better than I thought. As a razor, it works exactly as expected. The unexpected features are: 1. Easy to remove and attach new blade. I was always confused as to which direction to load a new blade. This allows only one way and it's clear and avery smooth operation. Interestingly, you're not stuck with a bar of empty a slots either - the holder breaks off individually. 2. It has a genious second shaving edge on the other side of the blade. These are really great Razors; affordable and refillable. I've always used 4 blade Razors but they were missing the side burn trimmer so I gave these a try. The side burn trimmer works great and the blades give a clean shave. The 4 blade razor blades lasted about a week but these 5 blade last about 2 weeks. ... show more

If you know, you know - the Mach 3 was among the first "premium" disposable razors, and it was also the long-reigning king for good reason. Designed by people who actually understood razors, it had a solid, heavy handle, a comfortable grip, sharp blades, a pivoting head that was smooth to tilt and - most critically for those of us with thicker hair - the blades were spaced wide apart so that the head cleans super easy. However, it was and is extremely pricey - as are all of its competitors, descendants and knock-offs. Worse, few razors ACTUALLY cut as close, clean as fast or work as well. I've tried all of them - the Dollar Shave Club's, the Harry's, the cheap Korean blades, all of them. And with inflation making the vaunted Mach 3 ever-more expensive to use, I was REALLY desperate to find a cheaper solution. This is it. The One™. The Bic Hybrid Flex has a smooth-tilting head, sharp blades, good placement, a heavier handle and a great grip. The weight means you don't have to press down as hard to get a good, close cut, and the smooth tilt means it follows the contours of your face or head - which, unless you're a cardboard cutout, your body will have. I'd knock a point off because the blades are closer together than they need to be, but so far they've been cleaning really easily. Not Mach 3 easily, but well enough that it hasn't been a problem. I am not docking that point, however, because in practice cleaning hasn't been a problem. A month in after shaving every other day and I'm still on the first cartridge, so I can't complain - just strop on your arm once a week, keep the blade dry, and they'll last. About a year ago I had switched to the BIC Flex 4 and it was ok. When I went to reorder recently I seen a sale on the Flex 5 and figured I would give it a shot. I really like the shave this gives. Smoother than the Flex 4 for sure and the handle feels hefty and better than the previous gen.
