They are pretty basic curtains, nothing fancy or pretty about them. But that's not what I was going for anyway. I work nights and with summer summer fast approaching my current black out curtains were not doing the trick! When the sun was shining it just lights up my room regardless. These are true black out IF installed correctly. I'm thinking they need to be installed inside the window frame vs on a rod above the window. As you can see by my photo plenty of light still coming in from the top, however I measured so they would hang above the window so now they are too big to fit inside the window frame. May consider returning for a smaller size to fit inside the frame to achieve true blackout.

These are super heavy and thick and Insulating. I live in a very old trailer with windows that don't close all the way. It's been very cold lately but with this curtain set the living room has been so toasty. No more drafts. I can even keep the window open for some fresh air and I barely feel the coldness coming through. This will be very helpful in the summer because my portable air conditioner exhaust is going through that window and it has to be open somewhat. Very elegant and expensive looking. I will be ordering another set for my bedroom window. So happy with these. I had actually purchased a different set here on Amazon that were awful. These actually do have a very nice black lining.

These do block sunlight exceptionally well - the only part that shows light is at the very top - that may be because our curtain road is quite narrow so that may be why. They do come quite wrinkled. I’ve been steaming them but some wrinkles are quite stubborn and I (and the steamer) ran out of steam!

I tried a couple of other brands that claim blackout but hardly even room darken when selecting white material. When these arrived I could tell they would actually block light just based on the weight of the package. Now my room, that gets morning sun, is completely void of ALL external light. Nothing gets thru these curtains, only a little light bleed around the edges. External sounds are even reduced. Now when I go to bed, I can finally sleep in absolute darkness and it's easier to stay asleep

I checked Amazon first but was impatient so bought a set at a local store and immediately returned them (they were definitely NOT blackout). Went back to Amazon, bought these and they are perfect. Pleasantly surprised that I only had to lightly steam them since they were packed very well. These curtains have provided a much-needed improvement to the quality of sleep I was looking for! I plan to get another set for the French doors in the bedroom. Don't let the "pure white" color deter you - it's not bright white.

I previously had another brand of blackout curtains in white. Since it was white, it still let some light in but did reduce the light. These curtains surpass the other brand by a mile.
