  • Nice net, but too small for "Trophy" fish
The media could not be loaded. A couple years ago, I was out on a small lake in my fishing kayak with my large musky net on the front deck. Just doing my thing casting the shoreline. Along came a fishing boat at about 30mph just 50 feet or so from me. It's not often a person as "Unthoughtful" (I'll keep it G rated here) as this comes along. Especially in a fishing boat. He caught me off guard leaving me no time to grab anything untied on my deck. His wake threw my kayak violently, and overboard my $100 dollar net went. I was not happy... at all. I tried to recover it, but it is gone forever somewhere on the bottom of Candlewick Lake. I told myself I'd never buy a net again unless it was a floating type. I ordered this floating net because it said it was for Bass. I am a largemouth bass fisherman. The bright yellow color is nice in case it goes overboard again... easy to see. There weren't any dimensions for the hoop itself that I could find. (My measurements for your reference are 11 1/4" x 14"). Without having those dimensions before, I assumed it would be large enough. But honestly, after receiving it, It's a little small for big bass fishing. I do net 5-7 pound largemouth bass, and this net is too small for them in my opinion. I do like that the mesh is easy on the fish. But landing a fighting fish in a small hoop, especially in the dark, is a challenge. and once you get them in there, you have to turn them around in tighter quarters to access the hooks. I also wish that the EVA foam grip went all the way up the handle, as I don't grip nets at the end, unless it's a dinky fish. I "Choke Up" and grip it higher up the handle using the butt to leverage against my forearm. I really wanted to make this net my primary, but will be using something larger. This is a net for small trout, bass, crappie, etc.. Not for "Trophy" fish as written in the description. It's still a very nice net, but I will be watching for a true Trophy bass sized net... with foam going up the handle a foot or so. The video shows me netting my buddies 3lb bass... Which I think is about as big of a fish as Id want to net with this. I will continue to use this but only when trout fishing in the streams of Wisconsin. Would also be good for crappie fishing. ... show more

  • Don't let the big one get away!
The catch of your life is being reeled in. It's a new state record! You reach over to grab your fish only to watch your trophy catch become another fish tale! If you only had a net! The Beyond Braid Floating Fishing Net is the answer to your nightmare! The handle telescopes making it easy to store when not needed and to extend when needing that little extra reach for the big one. It floats, so even if your kid drops it overboard, you can easily pick it back up. Appears to be decent quality of the price. Maybe not top notch, but if you're looking for nets on Amazon, neither are your fishing skills. This will get the job done. ... show more

  • Packed w/features. Ergonomic, telescoping, folding, strong netting, floats, yellow for visibility.
Heavy-duty. Folds well to keep the telescoping handle out of the way when not in use. It is light, but not flimsy. It functions great with a sturdy netting, comfortable handle and it floats too. I was pleasantly surprised by how great this is.

  • The world-record bass won't get away!
So, I've been bothering a friend to go fishing with me sometime this summer. We're planning to go next month and I'm hoping to break the world record for largest bass ever caught. The record is currently 22.4 lbs, so I tested this net to see if it could hold a 25 pounder. It does! I love that this net folds down. It has a carabiner on the handle so I can attach it securely to something. The net has a rubbery feel to it. It could easily hold my 25 lb barbell, but admittedly this is pushing the limits of what this net is capable of. I didn't feel confident holding 25 lbs from the handle with it fully extended as the leverage might be enough to start bending the rim. Anyway I'm sure it will be strong enough to catch the world record setting bass, and I can't wait to show it to you! ... show more

  • A really high end net that floats well at a fair price!
This fold up and floating fishing net had no problems helping me land a twenty five pound carp, and it is lightweight so that it is easy to pack in to my favorite spots. It folds up quickly and it is fast opening when needed. The handle is more than capable of handling a large amount of weight and is really sturdily built. The overall construction is well done and heavy duty. This also is great for getting frisky rainbows into my possession. This net folds really small, but unfolded it is hard to get it all in a photo. The net is tough and the holes of sufficient small diameter so as to retain grown fish, minnows swim through depending on their size. For the asking price you get a whole lot of net that is easy to transport and use and that makes this a great value for the money. I like the unusual design and it is highly functional. ... show more
