This bookcase has held up extremely well! It was very easy to set up, taking about one hour, with the only complication being that there are two panels for the back of the shelf that are *slightly* different, so you have to pay close attention to them and not mix them up. It’s made out of very good pressboard (not the cheap flaky kind I usually find in stuff like this) and has proven to be very durable. Mine is currently filled to the brim with books, with no signs of warping or sag after over a year and a half. I’m extremely impressed with the quality of this and will be purchasing another to match as all our other bookshelves are full and we need another. 10/10! ... show more

Cons: 1) these are NOT solid wood bookshelves. It looks solid from a distance but it's very light weight. My husband was able to lift it up by himself and it is 70" high. Some of the outer layers peeled off and I had to use glue to glue them back. 2) the backing for these look cheap and extremely flimsy. Would not be good for a stand alone shelf. Literally taped together with a piece of clear tape. They came apart upon unboxing and wouldn't tape back the same way. We don't use the backing because we bought them to make build-in bookshelves for our fireplace. Pros: nice color, easy to follow instructions, no parts are missing and no mismatch holes. Assembly was very easy. Each one took about an hr. Conclusion: we kept them because the price met our budget and overall it looks nice. ... show more
