I was very pleased with this mix. I found the flavor and texture to be far superior to ready-made crusts (e.g. Boboli) and it is extremely easy to use (easier and quicker than making your own from scratch, which I have done in the past). My only complaint is that it doesn't make much (hence my 4-star rating); you either get a very thin crust or a very small pizza (8-10"). If you want a larger and/or thicker pizza, you may need two packages. That said, I will definitely buy this again. ... show more

In my preppers corner I did an evaluation of pizza crusts for long term storage in my pantry. The Betty Crocker is as always some pretty good stuff. Taste is great and the ease of use ... well, dump it in a bowl, add some water, stir it up and wait 5 minutes. Can't beat that. Note that the BC does need to be a thin crust and somewhat lower amount of sauce and topping or your crust may not crisp up. It is not a pre-cooked crust, you put sauce and toppings on damp dough. Comparable difference to the WM house brand that you pre-cook so the crust is crispy before you sauce and top it up. Price wise the "house brand" was about 40% less which is about as expected. The single packet makes one 12" pizza but I made 3-4 small 8" size thin crusted from the same. Mine came with a couple years on the shelf life so will definately be buying more for the pantry. Also bought the 12 oz. jars of sauce which make 2-3 pizzas. Good stuff. As a prepper pantry item I would make this a must. ... show more

I started using this at the beginning of the pandemic, when delivery was out of the question. I have never made homemade pizza before, but this made it easy peasy. I usually prep early in the day. Make dough according to pkg instructions, cover bowl with plate, set aside on counter. You can use 5 minutes after and I have but I prefer letting rest and rise. Then I prep other ingredients. No cook sauce, canned whole tomatoes crushed with potato masher, chopped fresh garlic, salt, crushed red pepper flakes, and dried oregano.Then grate all the cheeses. And prep any other toppings. Then I'll pour a tablespoon of olive oil onto my 18 inch cast iron pizza pan, yes 18 inches. Coat intire pan. With oiled hands remove dough from bowl and shape into 6 inch disk and place in center. Start pressing from center out to edge of pan. I am always able to press this out to an 18 inch thin crust pizza. Very important not to over do toppings especially the sauce or you will have a soggy crust. 500°, bottom shelf, 15 to 20 mins and then let rest 5 mins on stove top. Also if you're a fan of crispy crust turn on stove top burner to brown center crust for just a couple of minutes, keep a close eye on it! Family LOVES it! I haven't ordered delivery since! It works really well when you have a bowl of regular flour at the side of the pre-moistened product ready to go onto the greased pan, add flour until it is not sticking to your hands, I put pizza sauce, and various vegetables like onion, green pepper and diced tomatoes then go with a topping of cut lunch meat in small strips such as turkey and then top off with different pizza cheeses. I get more solid results from this product if it is put in an pre-heated oven that is at 350 F instead of 425 450, I bake between 30 minutes to 35 minutes, also great for making cheese bread just add the pizza sauce and layers of cheese for a cheeze pizza or cheese bread. so far I have made 3 pizzas this way with this product and have gotten excellent results each time.
