I am a 60 year old female with not a lot of upper body strength, and I had absolutely no problem. my dogs love it. I have for small dogs and they can all day on that comfortably outside. Update: we now have THREE of these. Very easy to put together by myself. Helpful hint, though: when you have the bottom put together and you are trying to get the Velcro to reach its other half on one side, use a rubber mallet to tap every corner together a little tighter. Makes it much easier to Velcro the last side, I think we have had the first one for two years, and it stays out on the lanai in all types of weather. Other than a little fading, it is still holding together very well. The fabric just shows some small spots of wear, but I think the cat sharpens her claws on it, too. I absolutely would recommend. We have two now, and we need a third so there is no fighting over them! LOL they are used everyday out on our lanai. I did need my hubby to help me put it together, but it went quickly. ... show more

I purchased this bed, a beautiful red elevated cooling bed in June 2019. My 11 year old German Shepherd Roxi loves it and it keeps the sun off her head. I always leave it out in all kinds of weather, including snow. The red color faded and the screen just gave way 2 days ago...FOUR YEARS AND FOUR MONTHS LATER! You show me one dog product that stays on an open deck in all kinds of New England weather that lasts FOUR YEARS - ANY dog item...any! I immediately purchased another one and it's all set up. Works great for our 105 lb retriever. It's not designed for rain, but would do the job during a sprinkle or hot sunny day. The mesh breathes and is quite sturdy. Since the canopy pulls inward, rain does drain onto the mesh. I find I need to tip it to allow water to run off after a rain, the mesh is woven tight enough it does hold water. (Note: All four sides are open. I have a small tarp hanging behind it in the picture to block morning sun.) 14 months later: Not quite as durable as advertised. You will have to bring indoors for extreme weather. This means dismantling or have space in the garage, it's big. I checked for replacement mesh and haven't been able to communicate with the seller. So be prepared to replace in a year, provide ample storage space or dismantle and setup as needed. ... show more

This product is excellent! However, the instructions left out some information that would have been useful. The bars were seemingly too long when you put the base of the bed together, the base would not sit flat on the ground, as one of the four legs would inevitably raise off the ground, due to what I thought was because the bars being too long, causing the bed to be slanted. However, when you assembled the umbrella (top portion) and connected it to the base, it became straight and didn't slant any longer, and it ended up being a fantastic product! I just thought they could have been a little more detailed about some troubleshooting in the assembly. At the end of the day I'm very pleased with this product and I would recommend getting this for your pet. ... show more
