Instructions and assembly were very easy. Quality of the particle board and faux wood grain are pretty good. It works great for what we expected to use it for and fits in the space we planned for it. One thing to note, for anyone who isn't reading the description very well and skipping straight to the reviews, is don't forget that this doesn't come with the cubicle baskets. You have to buy those separate. Fortunately, I don't need those for our purpose so this is fine for me. But, if you need the baskets, make sure to buy some of the correct size at the time you order this shelving unit. ... show more

What can you ask for in terms of quality for something even less expensive than IKEA? This little shelf is nice enough. It wobbles barely a teensy bit because I chose not to nail the back on to maintain easy access to wires. What I love most is that it takes up very little space and you can buy these lovely little baskets (also on Amazon) to dress it up a bit. I’ll be happy if this last a few years. ... show more

    • Misadvertized standard cheap particle board cube storage - back panels are not removable

This is standard cheap particle board cube storage. Only three things stand out: 1) The price - Since that can be checked directly with Amazon I won't comment directly other than to say be sure to compare prices with thos of competing brands like closetmade before ordering 2) The white "caps" that cover the screw holes are just thin stickers, so thin they don't even remain flat under their own weight. This makes them not-removable and noticeably "off". For this reason the piece would work best as closet storage rather than as a showcase bookshelf in a more public place. 3) False advertising - this brand claims the back panels are removable. That is completely false. Although there are three panels they are nailed in. So they can't be removed without either removing the nails or ripping the board. They definitely do not slide in like the sales graphic implies. In my own case one of the pieces was slightly fractured near the dowel hole (though not enough to impact it's durability too much) and the bookcase arrived later than advertised. I also found the seller non-communicative through Amazon's buyer/seller system. However, these might be incidental features of my experience. As with many bookcases made of "composite wood" it isn't terribly sturdy so be sure to stick to the recommended weight limits and set it up so the dowels re not load-bearing.
