Trying this was difficult because my last two favorites were discontinued. I used to use Lagerfeld balm and then Caswell & Massey aftershave balm. I’ve tried several that don’t have really have a sandalwood smell. This product is excellent. It is a good quality balm that soothes my skin and the scent is great and not overpowering at all. The only complaint I have is that the bottle is difficult to travel with and the pump shoots at 80 mph. I have to be really careful and cup my hand over the nozzle. Otherwise the product is a home run. They should really consider a travel size tube or something.

STOP using alcohol based aftershave, and START using Lather & Wood After-Shave Balm, I promise you will never go back. I always used to think the burn of an alcohol based aftershave was a necessary part of shaving, and if you didn't have the burn you were going to get razor burn and razor bumps. Boy, was I wrong. I was hesitant to make this purchase, as I have sensitive skin that blemishes easily, and I've always been insecure about acne and razor burn/bumps after shaving, so I avoided anything creamy or that didn't have alcohol - thinking that was the best choice for me. This after-shave balm completely changed my perspective. The after-shave balm goes on light and non-greasy, has an amazing feel to it, makes my skin feel soft and protected, provides a deep moisturizing feel, does not cause acne, and best of all smells INCREDIBLE. My skin has never felt better after shaving. I would highly recommend pairing with the Lather & Wood Sandalwood shaving soap. After I decided to pull the trigger on investing in a wet shaving setup, I was looking for a a nice soap and aftershave to pair with it. After some searching, I landed on Lather & Wood products, and decided to give it a try. I initially purchased the Bay Rum scent along with Sandalwood. While Lather & Wood's Bay Rum scent is, in and of itself, fantastic for those who like it, it wasn't for me. This Sandalwood scent on the other hand is so unique, refreshing, and amazing, with strong but not overpowering woodsy, earthy, smoky, and mature notes, like walking through a fresh sandalwood grove on a crisp fall afternoon, it is unlike any other Sandalwood scent I've ever smelled on the market. Most shaving soaps or aftershaves I've smelled that claim to be sandwalwood have an old chemical perfumey smell to them that gives me a headache. This after-shave balm is the complete opposite, and I promise you will feel so refreshed and confident as you get whifts of this amazing scent throughout the day. Do yourself a favor and give this after-shave balm a chance, and you will not be disappointed. I swear by this company and this product. It is nice on the skin after a shave, a bit slick, but that quickly disappears. It has a nice scent yet a little bit will do you more than enough as I found it rather strong for my liking, perhaps that’s why it has stayed strong for more than 12 hours now. If I use it again it will be 1/2 a pump.

Added to the review one year after ... I kept it in my travel bag and it lasted almost a year. (Which isn't very impressive. it was a COVID year of non travel). It ran out recently and I will not buy more. The product worked OK and the very small size bottle is a decent fit for travel. Bit it was a bit too greasy, and the bottle was too small, and it started to smell oxidized after less than a year. I'll stick with my "Meh" review. ====== Original Review Below ====== OK, this is a decent product. It is soothing, smells OK (not really much scent), and it does the job. It is more concentrated than most after-shave by that I mean it is thicker and seems a bit greasier. So you just use a couple tiny pumps and it does sort of cover your face and neck. If the bottle size does not surprise you, then you have been using different products than I do. The bottle is tiny. And while the concentration of the product may mean it lasts, I felt kind of cheated. As soon as I received this, I used some, said “Meh”, and put it in my travel bag. The reason I am writing the review now is that I am traveling (by car), and using it every day. This product is ideal for travel except for the glass bottle. but it is ideal enough I will stick with my assertion. I have used it for 5 days in a row and it does soothe the skin after shaving. Its scent lasts maybe 20 minutes. It is not super satisfying to use. I confess, shaving is a total experience for me. Single blade, proper shaving soap, brush, shave close and get clean. I like after-shave that feels a bit indulgent (my favorite is Proraso After Shave Balm, Sensitive Skin). It makes my skin feel great and I enjoy the total experience. So please read the bottle size twice, expect a heavier, greasier lotion an a subtle scent. If all of those are for you, order the product. Once this bottle runs out, i will be unlikely to replace it.

I love this after shave balm. It is so great, I go back hours after using it when I shaved to apply more so I can keep smelling it. This has a fantastic scent. I visited their web site looking for an Oak and Bourbon mixed scent. I was disappointed to find that they don't do Oak or Bourbon, or any wood and whiskey combo. In fact, I couldn't find very many wood and/or bourbon scents that were affordable. I found a few and will let you know about them. So, bottom line. Would I recommend this product? Well, I plan on buying it again when I run out of this bottle, and that's the highest recommendation I can make. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. I guarantee!!
