This rake is very strong and sturdy. The end is really solid and both sides work great, depending on what you need. I have used it in rocks and filling bare areas.

    • Really nice! Albeit pricey...
This works wonderfully in the garden - I love it! Feels well made and I think it will last. That said, if I'd had to pay for this - I wouldn't have purchased. It's too expensive for a rake on my budget. Deducted one star for price, otherwise it's awesome.

Consistently top-quality gardening gear. I respect that and can wholeheartedly endorse any product from this company. I've never once had to deal with the company over any issues and I can't imagine I ever would and I do mean ever. If one of their pieces failed I'd have to imagine it was a truly epic mishap, you can pretty much guarantee it wasn't "I was just using it and it broke" it'd be like: "this rake saved my life! I turned around just in time to see this tractor-trailer bearing down on me, a look of horror on the drivers face, before I could even contemplate reacting the truck struck the rake in my hands. I flew one way and I swear the truck was deflected the opposite way and my rake flew so high in the sky I lost sight of it. A minute later I saw a glint of light in the sky. It must have been the sun reflecting off the shiny stainless tines. Sure enough directly beneath that glorious glint, like Thor's Hammer, I see my rake returning to Earth at terminal velocity. The horror! Fortunately, no one was within ground zero as the rake cratered into the Earth. Well, after seeing that display of selfless heroics I had to descend into the crater to see if I could salvage a piece of it as a keepsake. At the bottom of that crater I could see it well before I got there. It looked perfect, but could it be? When I finally got to the bottom of that gaping hole in the planet I couldn't believe my eyes. One of the tines was askew, just one, just askew. I tried with all my might to straighten out that tine, but no matter the lever it just couldn't be done. So I just use it like this, bent tine and all, still works great 13/14! would rake again" ... show more

    • Impressive & Sturdy Rake
Both an attractive and functional rake. We go through countless rakes on our land. Some last years, others only make it a few days. This one seems sturdy enough that it should make it at least a few months. Packaged well, but what makes it different is the way that it's shipped. It has more of a "giftable" look and feel to it, especially with the accompanying tag. Only reason I didn't give it a full five stars isn't because of any issue with the rake's function or appearance. But it does seem like it's probably priced about $10 or $15 higher than it should be. When a few similar rakes are available for slightly less. Though I'd change my review to five stars, should they come down on the price some. Otherwise, very happy with it so far. ... show more

I'm a huge fan of Berry&Bird products. It's a name I know and trust for quality items so I was happy to be able to order this rake. I have a rake but I don't like it. My husband loved it. The previous owner of our small farm welded an old rake head to a solid steel rod. It's indestructible, true. It's also too heavy. I absolutely love my new rake from Berry&Bird. This rake came assembled and well packaged. The head of the rake was wrapped tightly and securely for shipping. This rake is sooooooo much better than my other rake. I love the feel of the wood handle. Even though the head of the rake is heavy, everything feels balanced and it's easy to use. It's heavy duty but lightweight. At least, it's lightweight compared to my old beast. I also love the look of this rake and it will have its own spot to hang in my potting shed. Although it seems a little steep in price, once you receive it, you'll see and feel the difference. This is old school quality. 5+ stars for this gem. I hope this was helpful. ... show more
