The bag is light, so it will be easy for gim to carry with books and lunch added. It's spacious enough to hold books, stationeries, lunch, extra curricular activity gears etc. The bag is alao sturdy and looks durable. Bought this for my 5 year old son who starts kindergarten. He is obsessed with dinosaurs. This was perfect for him. We were a little nervous about the price of everything combined. But decided to live by that saying “you get what you pay for”. We got this backpack along with matching: ice packs, silverware set, water bottle, bento lunch box, and bento lunch bag. We are so glad we bought it all. This backpack is a decent size. It will definitely hold his school appointed Chromebook, his folder, and an extra set of clothes comfortably. My son also loves the feel of the padded straps. My husband and I filled the backpack with other toys and stuffed animals just to see about the weight and size. As we kept filling my son just kept laughing thinking this was part of his school gear now. He never once said it felt heavy and the weight was evenly distributed on his back. The side pocket holds his water bottle perfectly! The bottom part that holds the bento lunch box also fits the matching lunch bag with the ice packs and silverware set inside the lunch bag. (Yeah it’s a decent size bag!) If you do not want to purchase the lunch bag that is fine we just did to make carrying everything easier for my son to go to the cafeteria. He doesn’t have to worry about carrying his lunch box, silverware, ice packs, and water bottle separately. he just goes to this bag, unzips the bottom, and grabs the lunch bag while slipping his water bottle in the side of the lunch bag (his silverware set and ice packs are already tucked away in the lunch bag). There is even a zipper part to hold an ice pack on the top of the bottom to keep your lunch extra cold (even tho we will not be using it as we slide the ice packs in his lunch bag). This is the perfect bag for your little tykes to go to school and for those parents that love matching sets….perfect!!! There is no fighting between my two boys which items belong to them as they all have different designs and EVERYTHING matches!! Highly recommend and my boys love the sets!!

We had already purchased the Bentgo mermaid lunchbox and were looking for a new backpack for my daughter. She is 7 years old and was very excited when we found this backpack that matched what she already has. The design and colors are very pretty and while it is a mermaid design, it’s a great mermaid backpack for a slightly older child. The backpack is lightweight and has many storage pockets that will keep my daughter organized. The size is appropriate for her as she can fit standard sized folders and notebooks in it. I haven’t yet attempted to clean it since she just started using it, but the material appears easy to clean.

My sons starts 1st grade and he wanted this backpack. It’s a little big for his age but super durable. I love that he doesn’t have to carry a separate lunch box it will just go at the bottom of his backpack.

Bought this specifically for my toddler to carry all the things she needs for camp and into the school year. This backpack optimizes space for a bentgo lunch box in the bottom insulated pouch. but also leave so much room for nap supplies, extra clothes, and other things she may need to bring daily. It’s good quality and size. It’s a little heavy for her but she’s also still little - although she loves to try and carry it, especially since it has a lovely princess/castle design she enjoys so much.

I bought this because I love the lunch box feature. One less thing for my kindergartener to carry. However, it does take away quite a bit of space from the backpack depth itself. We had to practically force it shut to fit a 1inch binder in it, hopefully it doesn’t have to be brought home everyday or it will have to be returned. It is overall very cute, feels like a good thick material, the zippers are okay they did snag a bit. If you need the full backpack space then this isn’t for you, but otherwise I would recommend it.

This backpack is perfect, especially paired with the bentgo lunch box. We use this for daycare. They have water days so they require more items than normal. It holds a normal sized towel, extra clothes, bathing suit, milks, lunchbox, blankets, water bottle, toys, etc. It is hard for my son (4) to use as an actual backpack, but I think this will last a long time and be useful when he is a little bit older. Plus he got to pick out the pattern and it matches is lunchbox so that's a win in my book.
