I have been using the Bentgo Unicorn Ice Packs for over 2 months now. I read some reviews that were disappointed in the duration of time in which they actually stay cold, and I can see the point of those reviewers. However, I will say that they do stay frozen for a few hours and when paired with other cold packs or when you use multiple Bentgo Cold Packs, they work well. The advantage to the size of these are they are nice and flat, and I can generally place one below and above items in the lunch box. Additionally, my other kids have larger ice packs — but larger means heavier. These ice packs do not weight my daughters lunch box down and it is easier for her to tote. I usually only pack as much food as she eats so I do not have to worry about foods being in the danger zone because I am certain by the time she actually eats her lunch, these ice packs are still very much frozen. Overall, I’d say they are great for smaller children and stack well under and over foods. I use a Bentgo Box and a Bentgo lunch box and I can stack these under and over the Bentgo Box with no issues closing the lunch box. I’d recommend them! ... show more

I purchased these for my kindergartner to slip into her lunch box to keep her Bentgo box cool until her lunch time. These are honestly fantastic for a few reasons: 1.Function: they work really well. When I unpack her lunch box after her school day they are still frozen. Obviously they do their job well. 2. Form: these are good sized, but their profile is flat. This works well on 2 levels, as each unicorn is large enough to make contact with the majority of my daughter's lunch box, keeping the whole area cold. The thin profile means that it fits really nicely in her lunch box without adding too much bulk. On a related note, their thin shape makes them very easy to stack and fit in my freezer when not in use. Bonus: they're flipping multicolored unicorns. When you're 4, how fun is that?! I'm considerably older than 4 and I would also prefer a unicorn-shaped ice pack to the plain white block I currently use. 3. Quantity:this is awesome because there are enough to have one for each family member, or enough to keep them all on ice and rotate them out each day. The value here is fantastic. Cute and icy is the best way to describe these perfect little reusable ice packs. Summer camp just started, and we needed something that would keep lunches cool. These multicolored unicorn icepacks are exactly as described being colorful, thin, reusable, cold, and most of all, a perfect fit into the lunchbox. I put two in the lunchbox, and they stay cool for the entire day. These are a great price, a great value, work as expected, and I would gladly buy these again. Beautiful design, and larger than expected, however cold doesn't last very long. Maybe 2-2.5 hours at best. Pack was frozen at 0810 (live across the street from the school and we were running late). Lunch is always on the small yumbox regular (half a cold cut sandwich and a baby bell- she's in Kinder) that's inside a bentgo lunchbox (the big one - because that was the only light pink she liked) . Went to surprise our child at school to eat lunch with her at 1030, she took her yumbox out of her bentgo lunchbox and the container and its contents were starting to get warm. And not warm from the heat of my hand, like legit warm like it'd been sitting out of the lunchbox :( I know what you're thinking... my kid probably took it out and forgot about it and someone put it back in her lunchbox, nope (tried that scenario too), all lunches are placed in the cubby to keep cool and left there behind a locked door so a rando doesn't go messing with their food Mind you, it's not hot here where we live, nor is the heater on full blast at the school. Outside temp was 40 and so was at 60 (don't freak out..... the kids weren't popsicles with it at 60 inside.) Had high expectations for those unicorns. Just to also let you know, Even if you pack more than one in the lunchbox, they still dont last very long. :( ... show more

I like that these are thin and fit nicely inside the lunchbox next to the bento box we use. They are very cute and my 9 year old loves them. I use 2 of them and they are still cold by lunchtime!
