  • Display port cord malfunction?
Edit: changing from 1 star to 4 star review, great monitor for gaming. Can't see any problems with it yet, but will change to 5 star if it can last a long time (only had it for half a year). Edit from 5/17/2021: This monitor has held up for 2 years and still going strong. If it breaks on me I will get it again, because this monitor is too good to give up. 5/5 stars now I just received this product yesterday. The monitor and my PC apparently aren't making the connection, so despite using the display port given, I keep getting a no signal detected error and a black screen. I've also tried a DVI cord and it works, but it won't allow me to go past the 140hz option to a 240hz. My PC was self built and I didn't include a CD ROM insert feature, so I can't insert the CD that was provided along with the product. No big deal, it's 2019 right? Upon looking, there are no drivers that I could find on the manufacturer's website to help with my situation. The "drivers" on the support end of their website only offers security catalogs and set up info but no set up executable. I've troubleshot the whole day for this screen to work. I've tried power cycling the monitor and the PC, and I tried running it as a secondary and a primary monitor. Updated the drivers for my GPU and CPU, but it's a no go. The BenQ only shows up as a PNP. So far I've only had a black screen with the display port, and a 144hz screen with my DVI, when I paid the extra money for this monitor for the 240hz option. Tried a new DP and HDMI and still no luck. Even went through an exchange and got a new BenQ to try, but no. I guess I will be sending this monitor back for good. ... show more

  • Amazing monitor WHEN USED CORRECTLY
Let me start by saying this is by far the best monitor I have used in my PC gaming career, hands down. That being said, people should know that this is not intended to be the ultra flashy and colorful 4K monitor that kids are obsessed about. This monitor was built to have ultra fast refresh rates and super defined dark colors. This is what a gaming monitor should be. I have never seen such smooth game play on a monitor before. And, despite it not being a 4K monitor, the picture looks amazing. Sure, it takes a few minutes a tweaking to get it just right, but once you do you will never go back. If you want to watch movies, go buy another monitor. If you want the best gaming monitor out there, buy this one, you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Great monitor
Movie mode makes watching shows so much more enjoyable. The black equalizer mode is great for games. I really enjoy having little-to-no input delay, which is of course advantageous for gaming. 240hz 1ms response is more than enough to give you a competitive edge for online games, too. It also has a little arm that comes out the side to hold your headphones while you're not using them. 10/10, would recommend. ... show more

  • Any kids who cry "there are so much better monitors than BenQ at half the costs" it's cause ...
If you're a CSGO player, there's really no point in using any other monitors. BenQ has been specializing their monitors for CSGO since day one. Other than having to set up the colors, black equalizer and configs to your liking the monitor is flawless. Any kids who cry "there are so much better monitors than BenQ at half the costs" it's cause they're salty that you have one and they don't. There's a reason why the other monitors are half the costs. This BenQ is buttery smooth, and the input delay is basically gone. Keep in mind i upgraded from 144hz BenQ to this 240hz. I'd recomend to make sure your machine is able to output 240hz, if it can then this buy is an investment that will pay off in the long run. ... show more

  • Great monitor but not REALLY G-sync compatible
This monitor has a great picture, refresh rate, size, but when used with NVIDIA G-sync, depending on the frame rate difference while playing your game (like FPS games), the monitor goes black for about 2-4 seconds randomly. Doesn't happen on any other monitor I own and only happens with G-Sync active. If you're working with NVIDIA parts and games that have changing frame rates, this probably isn't your best option for monitor. ... show more

  • Solid monitor—smooth for gaming—terrible factory settings.
The media could not be loaded. I went from a 29:1 LG Monitor that was capped at 60hz. My current GPU can’t take advantage of the full 244hz yet. Even running this monitor at 144hz looks really good. I have only had it one day and I will update my rating as I use this monitor. So far, Destiny and FFXIV look extremely smooth. I’m excited to see improvements when I get a better GPU. Warning—the factory settings out of the box are GARBAGE. I was extremely worried when I first hooked up this monitor and I even said to my partner that I might have to return it. However, after some patient tweaking the colors and blacks finally look good. Don’t freak out if you plug it in and the colors are washed out and the blacks are pixelated—play with the settings before you make judgements. ... show more

  • Monitor went blank white - WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH IN LESS THAN A YEAR
This is a very nice monitor and with some good visuals however I bought this BenQ Monitor on May 2018 and then just today as I was playing Warhammer: Vermintide 2 the screen went blank white with the game audio still going on the back ground. I thought it may have been the HDMI cord attached that was faulty, but it wasn't. I replaced it with a new one and still had the 'White Screen of Death'. I will contact BenQ hopefully expecting some replacement. Will reply back on this review and then I might change my rating. So then I tried my old monitor from way back then, and lo and behold I had my desktop screen back. I am really upset that something like this could happen in less than a year. *UPDATE* After speaking with BenQ Customer Service They replaced my monitor hassle-free. It was good to have my gaming monitor back within a few days. Overall, the customer service was fast and responsive. In return, I've revised my rating back to a 4-star. I would give this a 5 star rating if only my first gaming monitor didn't break on me. ... show more
