  • Great Monitor highly recommended
Size: 27 Inch Style: 144 Hz | QHD | IPS Color: Metallic Grey
This monitor is great. Don't hesitate to buy it. Long review : So I wanted something for gaming on my newly built PC running I7 9700k processor and a 2060 Super. I realized 4k I would love to have but for the price it's not worth it. My graphics card is going to do 1440 just fine and this is the reason I got it. I didn't need a crazy fancy 1ms lag monitor. I just wanted something thats great Refresh and decent 1-10ms. I also wanted dual monitor which is the reason I bought a 24" Dell Gaming Monitor S2417DG. It was TN that had bad viewing angles. Figured do I really care? When am I going to be viewing the monitor from the side. Really not a big deal. Fast response time with 1ms and 165hz Refresh rate and under $300. Awesome Deal. For a casual gamer that does play Call of duty and fast paced games the response time was great. However the picture quality was not. The best way to describe it is that it appears as if the brightness is turned up all the way. It has that haze look. First of all I thought 27" is HUGE no way to run dual monitors so I got 24 dell and I just can't play on it. It runs great but going from Sony 930e TV to Dell monitor the colors are not even close. Every setting I tried changing going online and it look good but it did not look great. I bought a monitor that I want to play on not one that looks okay. So for $150 more I went with the BenQ with all these wonderful reviews. Now if your budget and need a good priced monitor that dell is awesome and you wont find better for the specs. It wasn't horrible. I liked it alot just Im about the best of the best always. BenQ was it worth it? So worth it. I now have not played on my TV a single time since getting this monitor. The colors are great the response time is fast and trust 144hz makes a huge difference coming from 60. Everything feels ridiculously smooth. Just moving windows around in a circle I am just amazed. Its awesome. Color is accurate I loved not having to adjust anything it came out of box looking great. Only thing I changed was color mode to Gamer 2. I like the extra pop of color especially when playing. I can't stress enough you pay for what you get. Also 27" is a perfect size it's not that big and this is coming from someone that's going to run dual monitors. G-sync compatible. Yes confirmed this is. Even if it doesn't specifically say so it is. And also confirmed that I was able to enable it. Response time yes I can barely tell the dell felt a little faster but not at all worth losing all the color quality. I feel like you just can't enjoy a game without it looking amazing. Connections: Big deal for me. I run a TV through hdmi and 2 monitors. So I love that BenQ has all 3 options. Even if I want to play on my ps4 it will work! Which is great. To clear some things up because I heard inaccurate information from YouTube reviews. HDR, Gsync, Refresh rate will WORK on TYPE C, hdmi, and Display. Yes I can confirm it works on all three because I tried on all three. People online said gsync only works on display and HDR only works on HDMI. This is a lie. I confirmed not the case. Of course you need the correct cables. But it will work. Currently using type C and I love it. Also was able to use Type C cable for my gf mac on this monitor and it works great! If your coming from a TV with 50-100ms lag. Going to a 5 ms lag is going to be a huge difference. You will not be disappointed. HDR yea the reviews are right HDR is meh I mean for call of duty it was whatever kinda got darker I like bright so disabled. However what they didn't say is I believe is made better for Videos. Because i downloaded a full quality HDR 4k demo video and WOW HDR looks amazing. It's so nice that I wouldn't be able to tell difference between my TV and monitor it looks that good. So for that I can say HDR works great! For gaming though I would say leave off but it's not bad so try it see if you like it. Also HDR-I is okay but same thing wouldn't use no need to. ALSO Love having a remote to change settings on the fly. Very convinent. Speakers Okay so many people overhyped them :l So are they amazing?! No they're not. They don't get super loud or sound crystal clear. However do they sound good? Yes! There great and work better than any other monitor speakers. Can definitely say I will be using this as my dedicated speakers. There is no more need to buy external speakers. They will work for YouTube and basic needs. But don't think this will be insanely good. I do love the. though. Overall I am so happy with this monitor and I got to say. It's worth the extra money. Save up never settle. Your forever going to say if only I spent a little more I would've got better monitor. Don't find yourself there get the BenQ! I also was skeptical btw because so many reviews said all these people were paid for reviewing on YouTube. I don't doubt it but hey I'm honest reviewer and can tell you the reviews are for the most part accurate. I left this review because I wish I knew that HDR and G-sync work through type C. So thought I'd share everything else ☺. ... show more

  • Fantastic 4K 144Hz monitor with great features.
Size: 27 Inch Style: 4K IPS Color: 144 Hz
This monitor is amazing for PC gaming at 4K 144Hz, and also works well with PS5 for 4K 120Hz. This monitor has the latest input technologies to save you space and headache since these ports are the new generation you can input 4K 144Hz through a single display port cable or HDMI. Very clean aesthetics on this monitor and the ambient lighting from the back definitely makes for a premium feeling around your gaming setup. As for the panel, the colors are great, gets very bright and there is no ghosting using the #1 boost setting. Though this is not an IPS panel as far as I am aware so there is a bit of light bleed and the viewing angles aren’t the best I’ve seen. As for features though it works with 4K 144 G-Sync and HDR all at the same time and requires no extra setup, and the HDR is phenomenal in my opinion, definitely helps bring everything to life. Overall I love this monitor for PC and console gaming It has all the features you’ll need from a high resolution/refresh rate monitor! One side note: When HDR is on the brightness is set to maximum which is a little weird but it looks amazing and isn’t too bright even playing in a dark room at night, just something to mention. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Nice Monitor
Size: 27 Inch Style: 144 Hz | QHD | IPS Color: Metallic Grey
I didn't want the hassle of buying and creating desk space for speakers in my setup, but I also know monitor speakers aren't the best. That's when I ran into this thing. After doing quite a bit of research on RTings especially, I decided I'd take the plunge. I don't have anything negative to say about this monitor though I did get it at $350 and not at its original price. Pros: - Built-in subwoofer. What immediately stood out was the sound quality. The speakers are better than my 43 inch 4K gaming tv speakers (which I sold after I started using this monitor). I thought it was all purely hype. Couldn't be that decent I thought. Well I thought wrong. - FreeSync Premium is glorious. Everything is way smoother at 144hz like browsing and every day application use, but my gaming has gone up a few notches. No more vsync for me. This set has a FreeSync range of 40fps - 144fps. As long as your fps is within that range, FreeSync is gonna work, and it works great. It feels and looks smother than vsync for sure. - Monitor has a lot of useful settings for blue light and tired eyes. The IPS panel looks vibrant and gorgeous. Obviously this is an IPS so blacks aren't as black as black can be, but it's good enough to get a pass from someone like me who really cares about deep blacks. - It comes with a remote and you wouldn't think this would be worth talking about, but the moment you stop having to reach behind or at the side of monitors for buttons, you never want to go back. - Good build quality all around. Not disappointed by that at all, and it came professionally packaged. - Great for gaming. No issues with input lag, motion blur or ghosting. Cons: - No built-in USB 3.0 ports. There are some very, very capable monitors in that price range ($350), even less, that can match this set in performance but they have USB ports. Extra ports are always a huge welcome. Obviously those don't have a built-in subwoofer, so go with what you need. I cared more about great sound out of the box so I picked my poison. - Very limited ergonomics. The screen can tilt back and forward, that's it. No rotating, spinning, raising and dropping, nothing. If you're gonna buy this, do your homework. I have absolutely no problems and do not need to adjust anything, but I already factored in the height of my desk, chair, and the monitor, so I knew what it would feel like having it in front of me. - Could be brighter. It's bright enough don't get me wrong, but I don't ever run my backlights at 100%. I usually do 60 - 65% to extend the life of my screens, and at 65% I've owned brighter panels. It's not a deal breaker at all, just thought I'd let you know everything. - Because of the panel, expect some sort of backlight bleed somewhere. Mines is a tiny spot on the lower left hand bottom of the screen, like how the sun looks when it's halfway under the horizon. It's extremely light and not visible at all in the vast majority of cases but if you focus, you can see a little white light. Room usually has to be extremely dark, and you shouldn't be staring at a screen in a room that dark anyways. No dead pixels though thank gawd. As usual, if it goes haywire at any time I'll return here to absolutely sink it in this review, but so far so good. Been using it heavily every day for a month with no issues. ... show more
