These thin (1/16 inch) pads of cork, about an inch in diameter, were originally acquired to see if they could make decent bottom pads on turned wood projects. Although they work well enough as such, I've found many additional uses for them in the months that I've had them. One in particular was getting a new stainless steel work surface at my job, and the small drill press I regularly use on that surface. The original base had a pretty rough cast iron surface on the bottom, made worse by someone adding screw heads to resist sliding on a wooden bench. It worked well enough on wood, but when the bench was resurfaced with a sheet of stainless steel to enhance cleanliness, the screw heads didn't play nicely with the fresh metal surface. Lots of ugly new scratches. Removing the screws and adding four of these cork patches to the bottom of the base instantly improved everything. No more scratches, the press still doesn't slide, and the natural cushioning of cork keeps everything stable and squarely on the bench top. It also reduced the noise output, an unexpected bonus! The 1400 identical discs arrive in a resealable bag on a long, glossy, paper "sticker" ribbon, just over five inches wide, all you need to do is peel each disc easily off the paper and apply it to wherever you need it. I find the adhesive layer to be entirely adequate. If you have a particular need for a smaller application of a cork layer on a project, they cut down easily with a scissors to whatever size or shape you need. I've done this with makeshift finger-mounted tools which were made a bit too loose for my finger, and a trimmed-down piece of cork improved the fit dramatically. Given the price, it's a low investment for quality cork discs in sufficient quantity to likely last me the rest of my life.

These little adhesive cork rounds are thin. That is an advantage if you want to protect your furniture from scratches but do not want the object to appear to be floating above the surface of the furniture. They are exactly what I was looking for after the cork protectors I bought from the dollar store were too thick to look right. You see, I have a handmade ceramic piece that is beautiful but not very smooth on the bottom. When I tried the thick cork circles under it, the aesthetic effect was ruined when it appeared to levitate. I know it's silly, but a fine piece of art on a beautiful antique table cries out for perfection. Enter this package of BENECREAT 1,400 Cork Round Dots. They are thin enough to discretely serve and protect. After I used the first four I ran around the house hunting for any other conceivable place where they were needed. After sticking them all over the place, I still have about 1,283 cork circles left. I might take up crafting cork earrings like the ones I saw on Esty. (I wonder if this is how their business got started.) Or I could become that strange person who puts weird stuff in Christmas stockings every year. Maybe I'll pop into my favorite antique store and see if I can trade them for some nick knack; but I had better save some cork circles for those new nick knacks because I don't want to have to buy them again. They stick and stay on very well, by the way.
