  • Very good choice
This is a very good helmet for the money. It is an excellent choice for both racing (my use) and someone who wants a very good helmet for the street. This is essentially a "lower" version of the Bell Race Star and is the entry into the Star line. That means it has the MIPS system and also includes the emergency release cheek pads. The emergency release cheek pads allow emergency personnel the ability to pull the cheek pads before trying to remove the helmet. This allows a much gentler removal of the helmet reducing the chance of exasperating a neck injury. This feature alone is worth the extra money over a budget helmet. This helmet also include a the Transition shield which is truly awesome. This is a shield that makes the helmet a great choice for the street. No more having to choose to wear a tinted or a clear shield. If you leave in the bright sun, and return in the dark, the shield automatically adjusts. It really works too. One thing that make it a little less pleasant for the street is the fact that there is no partially open detent. The shield is either fully open or fully closed. When closed you could not "latch" it shut, but that would leave only the smallest crack and doesn't add much if any air to the air flow. For a bike where your head is well exposed to air flow, sport bikes and cruisers with no shield, the vents flow a good amount of air. For anything that has a shield blocking most of the air from the rider, you only have the choices of fully open or fully closed. That is something to bare in mind. Overall this is an excellent helmet for the race track, whether it be full on racing or trackdays, for less money than the Race Star. For the street it is a very good option for many types of bikes but maybe not all. One thing I will mention is that for race only I also have a Scorpion R1 Air. The Scorpion is an excellent helmet and considerably lighter than this helmet and also less expensive. It doesn't have the transition shield but for racing that's not as big of a deal. For race only I'd probably give the R1 Air the nod, but it’s a close call and for many it may come down to graphics. For someone who wants one helmet for both the track and the street I would give this helmet the nod. In reality both are great helmets and represent great values. ... show more

  • Fits like a glove.
Size: Large Color: Summit Red/White
This helmet fits my head perfect. Snug and solid. Used chart to match helmet size to head measurement. Will continue to buy Bell Star Helmet s in the future. Photochromatic facescheild is a great feature. Only need one facesheild for day and night along with all types of weather.

  • Great helmet; Narrower fit
The helmet looks amazing. The inner lining feels high quality as well. It's a little tight on my cheeks, but I'm told they'll squish down with time. I had to send it in for warranty as there's some damage on the inside and it's too narrow at the crown, but Bell customer support is hands down just the best. They helped me out with an issue without even requesting a purchase invoice. Not many companies will go that much of an extra mile. Something of note. If Bell helmets fit you nicely previously, take their statement that they redesigned the helmet to make it smaller and more refined to heart. The large in the Bell qualifier fit me perfectly and the large in this helmet felt like my head was being pinched above my ears. I sent it in for a replacement in a size up, XL. I'll report back if it fits as good as my other helmet or if there's too much slop with a larger size. I expect the increased number of shell sizes plays a part as well, as the helmet might be more true to size than the qualifier. In either case, just know that the internal width at the crown is a little bit narrower than their other helmets. I'd recommend test fitting if you can but if that isn't an option pick a reseller with a fair return policy. [EDIT] Bell sent me a replacement helmet with minimal hassle. The XL fits great as well. You can also buy or call Bell support to get different sized cheek pads if the fitment is still too tight or loose, but the cap of the helmet fits way better one size up. I can't talk enough about how great the Bell customer support team is. One of the best in the business. ... show more

  • Very narrow fit
Fairly quiet good quality helmet just very hard to get on this is a XL and I previously own a bell qualifier in a large that fits great had to order 25 mm cheek pads just to get this on without removing my ears secondly the cheek pads cover up half the speaker openings and no way fix that, protint shield worth it alone ... show more

  • Helmet size is little smaller than other Bell helmets
I have 5 different bell motorcycle helmets and I usually wear size M. This helmet is little smaller than other bell helmets. It's more narrower than other because of MIPS I guess. I like the helmet though

  • The improved vision is a game changer for Bell!
Amazing upgrade from my previous helmet Bell Revolver with mips and auto darkening shield. The wend noise when venting is high but tolerable. The airflow though is very good. Your ears will get a good tug but once the helmet is on the fit is very nice. My XL fit as expected. Aerodynamics is spot on! I ride a XDiavel with no windscreen. The panoramic lens and added vision from the enlarged face opening are great! You’ll notice the improvement immediately. The looks 100/100! ... show more

  • Best helmet I’ve owned
I’ve owned a dozen helmets but this is the best. Auto darkening shield works great. The fit is true to size. Magnet for strap is a great idea. Quieter than any I’ve owned. No buffeting. I have Harley Fat Bob with Memphis shades fairing and 15”shield and this is the only helmet that’s been truly enjoyable to ride with this combination. ... show more
