After a several hundred miles, here is what I think. Pros: The comfort and fit is very good. Of the four helmets I have, this one is the quietest even over the full face helmet. Cons: The air vents don't seem to make any difference. I like the idea of a flip-up sun visor and face shield, but these features are a let down. At first the face shield would not stay up above 45mph, for some reason now I can go 65 mph and it will stay up. With strong wind gusts It will slowly works it's way down until it interferes with your view and then you have to pull it down all the way. I like to ride with sunshades on and no shield so I thought the visor would keep me from having to wear sunshades. The shade doesn't go down enough and allows the chrome on the gas tank and other parts to reflect the sun up and blind you. It will not stop dust and debris from hitting your eyes so glasses are necessary. ... show more

Everyone says it’s a noisy helmet it definitely is it will keep reminding you how fast you’re traveling which could be a good thing if you don’t know what you’re doing but I asked for listening to music and taking phone calls could be problematic it’s better for dirt riding then going 60 miles an hour on the highway ... show more

READ BEFORE YOU ORDER.... My melon measures the very lowest end of size Medium at the widest part. I read that it runs small so I ordered a Large. The Large fit me absolutely perfectly. It couldn't fit any better and it's very comfortable. The air ventilation works great. I just wish they would make it with a quick release strap, that would make it 100% perfect. I read some reviews that said to buy the next size bigger. So I did. I normally get a XL. So I bought the XXL. Even that was too small. I'm shocked at how far off this helmet is in sizing.

The helmet is nice and fits well.. but seems wind noise is 7-8 on a scale of 1 to 10 at 70 mph. I ride a motorcycle with an exceptionally good windshield too. With both shields down it's still windy (to me).

Like the helmet. Felt light in the hands. Runs small I’m re-ordering the next size up. Good construction. I Like the size of the sunvisor latch on the side. Very accessible especially when wearing gloves.

I like the helmet. I had to return it for the next size down. The next size down came in and the drop down shade was broke in the inside. So I sent that back for a refund. I wish it was not broken I really like the helmet.

Don't know why this helmet is titled "Mens", as it works great for my wife. I also have this model (in flat black) w/ the SENA 10 clamp kit. I had to go elsewhere to get her the clamp kit (mic, speakers, bracket) that is specific to this helmet and sold (labeled) thru Bell. An extra $40, but I knew this going in. Installing the clamp kit is a piece of cake. We had the SENA 10 system installed on our closed face helmets, but wanted this system on the open face/ 3/4 helmets for warm weather riding. We ride 2-up and use this system only as a wire-free intercom, so I have no idea how it works for bike-to-bike comm. The SENA 10 units clip right off one helmet and snap on to the other. Real easy. I got the size M for myself and also for the little woman. My head measures just on the lower range for M, and her's is even a bit smaller, but she said she wouldn't want anything smaller (she had size S helmets before that she wasn't too fond of the fit). The "D-rings" and strap are very easy to work - thread, tighten, and snap. The hood piece is out of eye range, so it's useless as a sunblock. More of a style thing, I think. It can be removed, but I don't think it changes the wind noise level (we ride behind a full fairing). The 2 vent inlets don't allow any "felt" breeze thru, w/ or w/o the hood. Also, no change of noise level, vents opened or closed (behind my big fairing/ windshield. You may be able to feel some breeze on an open m/c, but I don't know. The dark shade is just a touch darker than some other helmets' drop-down sun visor. Still, it could be darker. It also should come down a bit more as it's easy to see bright light while looking down. The clear shield can be flipped up to use just the dark shield, or no shield at all w/ just a pair of glasses. The price is a bit higher than it should be for this Chinese made helmet. Also, Bell doesn't allow retailers to lower the price on current model helmets. If so, I think this Mag-9 Sena would be around $100-$120 ... show more
