  • why settle for two? when you can have five
Initially, I had purchased Belkin AUX audio cable 2-way splitter but I have 3 children so they always manage to end up fighting when watching a movie on a plane or in a car during long road trip. So I bought this 5-jack splitter to end the war once and for all. It turns out that this 5-jack splitter works much better than the 2-way splitter even though both of them are made by Belkin. With the 2-way Belkin splitter, I always hear statics and hum noise so I constantly have to adjust the plug or fiddle with it but this 5-jack splitter works flawlessly when plugged in. I purchased this back in 2015 so my family has been using this 5-jack splitter for almost 4 years and it's still going strong. It seems more durable than the 2-way splitter and I appreciate the fact that it comes with an AUX cable as added bonus (see picture). I use the AUX cable to play my iPod or iPhone in a car or to home speaker with AUX line in. I highly recommend this product for privately listening to music or watching movie with group of people, even if it's just two people. I hope this helps and if it did, please vote so that it helps others, too. You can leave a comment below if you have any questions. ... show more

  • Great product. Works well. Ignore negative reviews.
Color: Light Green
Negative reviews are posted by the technologically ignorant people that dont understand your phone cannot power 5 headphones at the same time without some volume loss. This is because it is the device's very weak signal from the jack sending power to the mini speakers inside the headphones. As more speakers are powered, obviously, the power being sent from the jack will split evenly and supply less power to each speaker. For those who understand how this product works, its great. Nothing wrong with it, built solidly. Connections are tight, works with mono and stereo auxilary jacks. One thing though, they should add a picture explaining how there will be volume loss with headphones to a cell phone or tablet. Seems that a lot of people cant grasp that idea. ... show more

  • Absolute Disappointment
Color: Light Green
The more items that are plugged into this splitter the lower the volume would go on all headphones. Tried up to three headphones at a time and sound while watching a movie in an airplane was not loud enough to understand or follow along. At times the third set of headphones would not even work. Tried multiple combinations of jacks to no avail. When removing the splitter out of the equation all three headsets worked perfectly. ... show more

  • Does it allow multiple inputs to one output on the built in male 3.5? Yes.
Color: Light Green
There was a bit of confusion when purchasing this because so many people, including the sellers, haven't been clear on if you can have multiple inputs to one output. I can say, yes, you can fill up all 5 female jacks with input devices. Where this would be used is if you have one speaker system as an output that you want multiple devices to output to. I have a PC, Intel NUC and a smart phone hooked up as inputs all going out to a Logitech z623 stereo system. I don't notice a drop in clarity when using multiple inputs, but for each active input the volume drops a bit and it would be more likely to get distortion with multiple signals at high volumes. I personally will not be using more than one at a time, so for my use it acts more as a hub. There are two things to note when using it like this. First, cable length and quality seem to make a difference. My NUC, which has a low-end soundcard but is using a higher quality 3ft 3.5mm cord, is noticeably louder than my PC that has an amp boosted signal and better soundcard but has to travel 8ft on a cheaper 3.5mm cord. The second thing to note is that if you have more than one device active one may take control of volumes. For instance, my Android phone will drastically deafen all other inputs and take over the output. I am sure this has to do with some function of smart phones audio control, but i felt it should be noted. Besides that the Belkin Rockstar is functioning as i hoped it would. ... show more

  • I own four of these and recommend them to everyone
Most people talk about using these as a splitter. It works for that, but I really enjoy using these as an mixer. There are two scenarios in particular I love to use these for: 1) My work is computer based. I like driving my audio with phone, but still having audio from my computer. I leave this on my desk plugged into the computer and then just plug my phone in when I start to work. 2) For long game sessions, as long as it isn't a story heavy game, I like listening to podcasts while playing (especially grindy RPG games). I can plug in my phone while plugging into the PS4 controller and getting both audio. It is a passive mixer, meaning you can't control the mix of audio with the device. For example, if your game audio is quiet, and your podcast is too loud. But most consumer devices have controls and you can use those. So in the scenario I just gave, you can bump the phone down on your smart phone that is playing the podcast, and the PS4(and switch) has a setting for audio out volume of the controller. I own multiple devices just for the convenience. I leave an extra in my work bag and one in my night stand. I have yet to have any of them break. ... show more

  • does the job
Color: Black
Does what it's supposed to, but the only downside of it is that the volume is reduced based on the amount of headphones plugged into the multi-jack, which makes no sense. Even when you raise the volume on the device it's plugged into, the volume is still low. I know that this is actually a problem with other brands of multi-jack audios, but Belkin should work on this problem to better their product. ... show more

  • Pulled me from despair
Color: Black
Long story short, got sony radio receiver with only one aux port. Realized that unplugging and plugging in different aux cords constantly (risk of breaking off in radio unit) would be no easy fix ;HOWEVER, this multi port aux gear can have multiple aux cords and devices plugged in and be played out of ONE cord as an output. I saw NO words of a backwards compatibility feature description that would help this scenario, so this purchase was a shot in the dark (and my bullet landed a bullseye). Definitely recommend this if you too are lazy and concerned about constantly plugging in aux cords. ... show more
