Installed this unit in a church PA system. It solves the issue of the preacher going from a whisper to a full shout while still allowing a degree of dynamic range. Does not add noticeable artifacts to the sound, no pumping or breathing. It takes a bit of time to "learn" the system and make the proper adjustments to attain the best performance. Had one of these before but it was a little bit larger and the lights were a different color so, I'm guessing this is a revision. If anything the noise gate function is my reason for buying, nevermind it has a nice compressor and DeEsser. Packaging was suitable and delivery was fast.

I'm not a very tech guy but I do record and another sound guy recommended it. After trying it out I noticed a difference in the sound quality and I usually don't notice these things.     • This thing rocks once properly set up
As a professional sound engineer, for years I looked down my nose at Behringer. Give me Midas or at least Soundcraft. But now that I'm no longer in the business and just doing this on my own and on a limited budget, I've taken another look at their equipment. I must say, I'm very impressed with the Composer Pro-XL. It has all the adjustments I need to give my mic that extra punch I was looking for. The sound is of good quality and doesn't seem to be degraded at all by the unit. I was so impressed with this, I ended up getting a USB audio interface and mic preamp from Behringer also and am very pleased with those as well. Very good quality for the price. ... show more

    • Still Great Compressor
Yes I still have analog mixers that I use this with. I've used this for a while at venues before digital boards were popular. Added it to my analog system for the lead mics. Still sounds great and gives the vocals a warm sound.
