WOW! ok so as a guy who owns and regularly uses axes every single day, i am blown away with the overall quality to price ratio of this little hatchet. The hang on the handle is fantastic, something i don't say alot with sub $100 axes on average. the handle itself is well oiled, and lightly waxed, another very nice touch (i could have done without the wax, but its fine), i was very very happy i didnt have to spend 25 minutes scraping varnish/sanding/oiling the handle. the beard coming down as far as it does gives it great balance when choked up to use for basic bushcraft projects. the leather included is nice,higher quality than i expected. i only have 1 complaint, and its really minor for me, but for those looking for an out of the box useable hatchet might have an issue....the profile was uneven, very very uneven. not a big issue for me, as i profile and sharpen my axes on the regular, but if i had purchased it with the intent to use it right away i could see being upset. the edge/profile it came with was total trash,especially when compared to the rest of attention to detail on the hatchet. i kept it at 5 stars because the value and overall quality is amazing, just be warned you are gonna have to spend a few minutes throwing a fresh edge on it. perfect little bushcraft/small camp hatchet. would make a great gift

I love pretty much everything about the head of this hatchet for a carving type of one and I don't think that I have ever bought an ax or Hatchet that was sharpened this well. I really like the shape of the handle, but it is just too thick, especially at the "grip". I think that I have about average sized hands, as I usually use large or medium men's gloves, but this handle is just too big around to be as great as the head despite a good shape. I have 14 axes and hatchets and none of them have handles that are that large in circumference at the grip.

I purchased this axe as a Christmas present for my husband and he loved it. I was quite surprised at the quality! It is a beautiful axe and worked very well for chopping fire wood. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase!

I took a bit of a risk on this. I don't know much about metallurgy and it's not the prettiest tool I've ever received, but it came with a good edge and sharpened to a great one. I slim down the grip a little bit for my hand and re-oiled it. But as soon as I picked it up I started carving down sticks in the area and it did a fantastic job with much finer control than I would ever have expected. I'm very happy with it!
