These ear buds have exceeded my expectations. I have tried other (and I mean several other) ear buds for listening to the Calm app music for sleep. They mostly started out great. But within very little time they developed problems. Sounding tinny, poor connectivity, one or the other ear buds completely breaking down, not lasting as long as advertised. Not to mention none were comfortable for side sleeping even when advertised as such. These are different. The sound is clear and resonant. They fit well in the ear. Their connectivity is great. They charge quickly and the charge lasts up to 15 hours. They aren’t comfortable for side sleeping but I have given up on that even existing. Overall, these are the best ear buds I have ever tried. I definitely highly recommend these. I use them only for sleeping because I have hearing aids that I pair to my phone for daytime listening, but they are so light I can see how they would be great for sports, etc. Give these a try. You won’t be disappointed.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE HEADPHONES!!! I actually had a pair already and they lasted over 3 years and when I tell you they were in almost constant use 8 hours a day every day. From answering calls at work and making calls to my own personal calls and the fact that they can be hung up with just allowing the two headphones to click together (magnets on each) and then also anytime I used music apps or ebooks I could simply pause it by allowing the two headphones to touch and allowing the magnets to catch and pause whatever was playing. These headphones are just the best and the fact I can wear them around my neck when they're not in use so I never have to worry about putting them down and forgetting where I left it and end up losing one and then they come with different size pieces to place in my ear and I have small ears so regular ear buds that are one size fits all dont ever fit my ears they're too big and always fall out where these I never have that problem with them I honestly can't speak highly enough about these things and the audio quality is amazing too especially when talking people will hear a background noise and a few times I had to actually have to be like you heard that wow these pick up every noise but they also don't pick up wind if I'm walking and talking sometimes with others the wind would be so loud they couldn't hear my voice which is never the case with these if anything it seems to cancel it out. I feel like I'm not getting across how great these headphones really are haha but I wouldn't recommend anything else besides these and so long as they continue to sell them I absolutely plan on buying a new pair in another 3-4yrs or longer because their life expectancy is amazing too I've absolutely got my money's worth from the first pair and then some honestly and they charge super quickly too I can use them without charging all day at work and then at night won't charge them for about 15hours and they don't die and then before bed will put them on the charger and they're good by morning to go another 15hours BEST HEADPHONES EVER!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 10 OUT 10 5 STARS ALL THAT AND MORE!

Update: Knocking a star off. Still a decent headset. Discovered a couple, to me, significant deficiencies, since my original review. 1) Battery life is far lower than rated 12 hour. getting about 8, maybe. Mostly listening to podcasts. 2) Lack of low battery warning. If there is one, I never heard it. The other earphones I have used all have clear warnings , usually stating '20% battery remaining' and such. I have not had any warning, and ran out of battery 2 times so far. 3) the buttons on the neckband are really not logical, or marked what they do. 4) battery indicator is on the other side of the neckband than the charging port. Not a big deal, just odd. 5) no 'over top of ear' wire routing like others I have used. Just a preference. 6) I miss having an add-on charged battery to greatly increase the use of the product without having to find a charging port. Not easy when out of the home/car. On the positive side, I have found the phone function and quality is very good. No complaints from anyone I have talked to about the sound quality on my end. Most headsets I have used were bad to very bad. These are very good. From a dead battery, I charged about 20 minutes, got about 20% battery (according to the app). I guess that is pretty good. Using the headset as i type. Battery is now 15% after about 25 minutes of use (podcast listening) Still don't like the neckband. Prefer over top of ear, tight around the head wire style with nothing on my neck. Still, the sound quality for music, when equalized using your music app, is very good. Sound and mic quality are very good for phone. The business end of this set is there. Original review below: Coming from an older pair of similar Jaybird headphones. Purchased these because they seemed similar. Seems a lot of review are doing pros and cons. Seems reasonable. Impressions below pros/cons. Pros: lightweight fits my ears fast charging simple controls (also a con) good sound..well..after using your music app's EQ to adjust to your hearing level phone/mic seems very good. cons disposable product. No adding/changing batteries that I can see. during quiet songs, you can hear sound transmitted from your clothing, etc. Not terrible. Just something new and odd. non-intuitive simple controls (simple to learn, however) no app to fine tune the headphones to your hearing level and tones to your ears. out of the box, sound is flat and zero bass. using your music app like Amazon Prime Music, you can tune an equalizer and greatly improve the sound relatively low volume not crazy about feeling the cord on my earlobes and the band on my neck. Impressions: Not bad for the price. Initially, I thought they were horrible. Turned on the EQ in Amazon Prime Music, which fixed that ! Out of the box , the sound is unimpressive, to say the least. Not crazy about the semi-rigid band. I liked the all wire of the Jaybird, as you could have it conform to your head with no movement for a real nice fit, making you even forget you had them on. These, you always know you have them on, as you can feel them on your earlobe and on your neck. Even with the annoyances, will give it 5 stars. Will revisit the review if there is any significant update Nutshell, they are almost identical to a $15 set I have, in all respect except these do sound a lot better. Is it worth the price... ehhh I don't know. As I listen to music writing this, I am liking them a LOT less than my old Jaybird Freedom. The sound quality (after setting up the EQ) is better, however, but the neck band is getting more annoying

For someone that has to multitask all day, having a working set of earphones that are comfortable when in-ear, easy to take out and carry around your neck so you don’t lose them, long battery life, good sound quality, clear voice quality on calls!! (The last set of earphones I had had good quality for listening to music but terrible quality for the other person hearing you on calls), and can carry straight over to staying in when exercising, is of paramount importance. I must say, these have proven to be a great buy. I have purchased them three times now and each pair has lasted four years. While that may not seem like much, I wear them every single day. If you are looking for deep rich sound quality, go ahead and get headphones, but for normal everyday use; shopping, outside work, housecleaning chores or the like, these work perfectly for me and are fair priced. I usually don't wear them for more than a few hours at a time so the battery is not an issue, and they charge with the same cord as my Samsung phone. Highly recommended.

I have been wanting to upgrade from my fifteen to twenty five dollar earbuds/headphones, so when I saw these Beats Flex at a good price point, I jumped at the chance, and ordered them. I also have an iPhone, and while I am not particularly knowledgeable about tech-y stuff, I know that Beats are an Apple product, so I was looking forward to the headphones and my iPhone hopefully working well together to give me a good sound experience. The Beats Flex physical design is fine. The rubbery neck cord thing is sturdy. The headset holds itself in a kind of natural loop under the chin. On one of the long plastic things attached to the cords- the one marked with an "L" for "Left”- is a raised dot button thing, a mesh screen, which must be the microphone, a long skinny bar that controls the volume, and the charging port. On the other long plastic thing (marked with an "R" for "Right") is the teeny tiny power button. In the package, along with the headset itself, you get a short charging cable, and a little box containing info about the earbuds. Now here is one thing I really hate when you buy new stuff these days. Instead of ONE simple booklet, or a single piece of paper with the schematics/instructions, inside of the little box you get a cutesy little cluster of teeny little loose pages. Two are flimsy little booklets inscribed in what appears to be 1.5 pt font. One of these booklets (as far as I can tell), is about a limited warranty. The other one (I think) talks about the dangers of batteries and Bluetooth. Neither is an instruction manual, or a “how to,” or contains a schematic of the Beats Flex earbuds. Then there are two loose pieces of paper. There is also a sticker, which you can put on your skateboard. Or on your whatever. One of the loose pieces of paper has a diagram on it that shows how to turn the headphones on, and how to sync them with your iPhone via Bluetooth. The earbuds synced immediately- they arrived all charged up- which was great. In fact, when you press the power button, an image of the Beats Flex headset appears on the iPhone screen with a handy little button bar beneath them that says "Connect." You tap on it, and you're all connected. Cool. But nowhere in the falling all over the place happy fun package of "information" that came with the headphones was anything that told me what the raised round button on the L plastic thing was for, and what pressing it would do. Would pressing it- disconnect a phone call? Would pressing it- order a pizza from two states over? Would it enable you to- contact the International Space Station? Would pressing it- order a pizza from the International Space Station? Who knows. So I jumped on the Internet, and googled "Beats Flex schematic.” I found out that the long flat plastic things attached onto the cords are called "control modules." And that, on the left "control module," the little round mystery button is for answering phone calls, for disconnecting phone calls, for putting one call on hold in order to answer an incoming call, etc. Maybe this information is someplace within the annoying loose batch of all over the desk and floor pieces of paper, in one of the two requires-an-electron-microscope-to-read-them "manuals” that came enclosed with the headphones. If so, I sure couldn't find it. I did hear from everyone I called while wearing the Beats Flex earbuds that the quality of my voice during the phone calls was very good. I was told the Beats provided a vast improvement in terms of fidelity and clarity in communication over the cheapies I had been using previously. I also found the person I was talking to sounded very clear, and there was a minimum of background noise and static. As I make a lot of phone calls, this was good to know. I have a couple of very old and battered sets of JBL JBud wireless headsets. As these Beats Flex headphones are more expensive than those were, I figured the new Beats would be a significant improvement in terms of sound when listening to music or other media. That's why I was a bit shocked at the rather poor quality of sound coming out of the Beats when doing so. It isn’t horrible, but I was expecting more from a Beats brand product. The Beats are only slightly superior to my eight dollar big box cheapies in terms of sound quality. Their bass output ranges from minimal to non-existent. I play bass, so I do like my music a bit bass-heavy, but not to a ridiculous degree. However, these things are just really lacking in the bass department. Not only is everything too trebly, but the higher tones often border on downright screechy. I was shocked, really, by their caliber of sound. On the whole, the audio they put out has a “thin” quality to it. I tried to compensate for the uneven sound by attempting to use the built-in EQ on my iPhone. But these earbuds, although they are an Apple product, seem to only respond to a couple of the EQ settings, or even to just one- "Late Night." Which is ok, as it increased the overall volume output of the Beats Flex, which, to an old punk rocker like me, is lacking. But this EQ setting doesn't make their sound any less tinny, and hitting “Bass Boost” or “Treble Reduce” doesn’t make any difference. I usually listen to YouTube stuff- lectures, movie reviews, etc.- on my headsets. Without the ability to influence the highs and lows, I found myself scrambling constantly to jab at the volume bar to turn the media down because the thin, caustic nature of the sound these Beats Flex will unexpectedly put out was hurting my ears. I thought to check the App store to see if there was a Beats app with an equalizer that could maybe help. And yes- there is a Beats app, and- you have to pay for it. (No thanks.) I switched over to an old pair of the JBL earbuds to compare, and their sound was much richer and fuller, even though they are several years old now, and had cost around fifteen dollars cheaper. I was bummed. I had really been looking forward to finally owning a pair of Beats, and to enjoying any small, but noticeable, upgrade in sound quality. Yes, they were better on phone calls, but I was really hoping for a better sound experience across the board. If I could afford to spend another 75-200 dollars, I’m sure the sound of Beats earbuds at that price point would be amazing. But for someone on a fixed income like me, buying that pricey a pair of earbuds just isn’t going to be happening. I was going to buy a backup pair of these Beats Flex had their sound quality in general been good enough, as they had performed so well during phone calls. But after my experience with their poor sound while listening to music and other media, and without access to a free EQ to use with them, I won’t be doing that. Unless you find these at an extremely reduced price, or unless you plan to use them just for phone calls, I cannot recommend them. There are too many less pricey options out there that will provide a better listening experience in terms of sound caliber. Some pros: They are quite comfortable to wear, as they come with a wide range of earbud tips to choose from. I fell asleep in them several times, and didn’t find them irritating or cumbersome at all. They appear to be sturdily made. They have a reasonably long battery life- seemed to be around 8-9 hours. They charge up pretty quickly.
