  • 2016 Chevy Cruze LT - Works as advertised
I was looking for new headlight bulbs to match my vehicle's daytime running LED's. Originally I thought about going with 6500k+ halogen bulbs, but upon finding these Beamtech H13's I decided to give these LED bulbs a try. Most reviews on LED bulbs mention that LED's in a Halogen housing tend to have bad light distribution, or improper angles, so I was reluctant at first. Now that I have them, I wouldn't have chosen any other bulb. Pros: Perfect fitment, great light distribution both low beams and high beams, instant illumination when switched on, color directly matches my daytime running LED's, easy installation, and most likely longer life span than stock/premium halogen bulbs. These bulbs provide a brilliant white light with a slightly bluish tint, which is common in modern HID and Xenon lights. Cons: You will need to locate a good place to fit the wiring after installation. The wire itself is only about 2 inches long so it shouldn't be much of a hassle. These bulbs will also require you to calibrate them to your specific vehicle's headlight housing. This takes only a few minutes and will ensure proper light distribution and aim. These bulbs are also a bit longer than a normal halogen bulb due to there being a heatsink on the bulb itself, so be sure to give the heatsink room for fitment and to move any objects such as wires or plastic away from it to protect against unwanted damages. If you are getting improper light distribution or bad aim, be sure to try these steps first before returning this product: There is a picture in the instructions booklet included with these bulbs telling you which LED's are for the high beams and which are for the low beams. Keep this in mind during installation. There is a small screw linking the bulb to the harness which holds the bulb in place. Remove this screw with the provided allen wrench so the bulb can be turned in it's harness (KEEP AN EYE ON THIS SCREW AFTER REMOVAL. It is very small and can easily be lost if you are not careful). Once you remove the screw, install the bulb as normal, plug it in and turn your headlights on. Once you have the bulbs in the housing and turned on, slowly turn the bulb in it's harness to aim the LED's. It may take a few minutes to get them properly aligned, but you will want to make sure it's perfectly aligned so you get good illumination of the road at night and so you don't blind others on the road. Test the high beams while performing this calibration to ensure that it is properly aligned. The high beams should provide illumination ABOVE the low beams. Once you have aligned the bulb, memorize where the Beamtech Logo is on the heatsink so you can remember where it is supposed to be during the next step, some vehicles have little space to install bulbs so it may be difficult to remove these LED bulbs after calibration without moving the bulb within it's harness. After calibration, unhook the wire and unlock the harness, keeping in mind where the logo is after unlocking the harness from the vehicle, then remove the bulbs from the vehicle. With the bulbs now aimed, replace the small screw with the bulb in it's new position within the harness, now locking the bulb in place. Then reinstall the bulb into the vehicle, plug it in and re-test the bulb. It should now be aimed properly. If not, repeat these steps to ensure they are properly aimed. If you have any other issues with these bulbs, such as flickering or the bulb going out in less than 1 year, contact the seller using the "Ask Seller" button in your Amazon Orders page. ... show more

  • Did not work with my system - but 5 STAR Company!!!
I'm writing this review though I needed to return the product and find something else. When I ordered these lights, I knew that there would be some modifications needed for the lighting system so that the load was the same as traditional lights in my 2010 Jeep Patriot. I thought I would try them out first before buying the decoders or resistors, and in doing so, found out how great the BeamTech company is. I contacted them asking what decoder to purchase, and they said they would immediately ship them to me - no charge. I received the bulbs first from Amazon and tried them out. Sure enough, they would "flicker" out as others had described. To explain this deeper so you know what you expect - for me, it wasn't a flicker like a strobe light or anything. It was the bulb on fine.. stays on.. stays on.. light goes out like someone long blinking an eyelid, then back on again.. totally random, no telling when. Furthermore radio stations had an extreme amount of static as soon as you turned on the lights. Installed was no problem... but turning on the lights made the radio stations nearly impossible to listen to; all other inputs were fine (aftermarket Pioneer head unit). So I pulled the bulbs and waited for the decoders. They arrive a few days later and I tried again. Nope - they didn't fix my situation. I contacted the company to let them know that the decoders didn't work and to ask which resistors they recommended. They checked with their tech people on their end and emailed me back that they were also sending me the resistors to try! Great service! Once those arrived, I tried every combination - resistor and bulb, resistor + decoder and bulb, decoder + resistor and bulb... nothing worked. The resistors do get very hot - just be aware when you're testing. I contacted them again to let them know, and they said they would refund me without any issue. I spend $14 sending back all the items, but absolutely appreciate their effort and willingness to help. I would totally purchase from them again, assuming the bulb would work with my system TO BE CLEAR - the bulbs worked perfectly - they were bright (but not as far a beam as expected with high beams on), clear, and worked with my lens in the light housing so that they wouldn't blind other drivers. It's a great bulb. I really wish they worked with my electronics! If you have a 2010 Jeep Patriot.. sorry.. I couldn't get them to work. If you find a different resistor that does get them to work with the Patriot, please list it below! I would add these lights back without question! ... show more

  • The best upgrade for my Chevy Cruze - great performance and long term reliability
After replacing many headlight bulbs in my Cruze, I was looking to upgrade to LED but didn't want bulbs that had a fan that would eventually fail. I cam across the good reviews on the Beamtech. I liked that it had a heatsink instead of a fan for cooling, and had a pigtail connector which is easier for the harness in the car to plug into. I bought the Beamtech and installed them, however the light was not casting right. I then read the instructions which show you how you need to adjust the orientation of the LED in the housing. BINGO! After making the adjustments, they were perfect. Much better light than any standard non-led bulb. I now have well over 1,000 driving hours with the Beamtech bulbs on in one car, and over 600 hours with the bulbs in another car. Super happy with the purchase. These have done a fantastic job at outlasting regular bulbs. ... show more
