Update: My wife said she needed new oven mitts so I gave these to her. They are a little big on her hand but she loves them. Great protection around the oven too. These gloves seem good. I used them to hold the paper towel while I seasoned the griddle and didn't feel any heat. They are think and limit dexterity a little but not too bad. I knocked one star off because for me the thumbs are a tad bit short. Not too short to use the glove but a little more room would have been good. Provides great heat resistance... key work being resistance. after a few seconds, any high heat will permeate through. Also, while extremely comfortable and providing good grip, the rubberized grip pads will get HOT. You will not feel it too much with the gloves on, but be careful taking them off too quickly (like I did) as you could burn your hand touching the outside of the glove. This is more "user error" and not a reflection on the product. These are not meant to be "heat proof" and keep that in mind handling extreme high temperature items for more than 5 or 6 seconds. I bought these to manage coals and wood in a pizza oven and they work as I would hope they would. ... show more

I've been a fan of these kinds of gloves more many moons. I needed a replacement pair and these are just what the grill master ordered. The extra length is a plus, they are comfy, functional, and I have not been bothered by the heat whatsoever. Great for both ovens and grills!!

I'm impressed with these gloves. I was touching meat on a very hot burner and you can feel the heat from the pan and pots but they didn't even get the slightest warmth. And I was touching the hottest part of the pots and pans for a long time but no problem. there a little snugg to put on but once there on I can do everything with them. I go to one dish after another without needing to take them off. I'm frying steaks and boiling potatoes at the same time and when I have a break I took a tomato out of the bag in the fridge and grabbed a knife and sliced it up. never took them off till I was done cooking. Somehow the idea took hold that everyone who barbecues is some gargantuan brute needing tongs as long as your arm and forks that belong on a construction site. These gloves are adequate, but far larger than a "medium" glove ought to be. Makes 'em clumsy, just like the other useless Fred Flintstone dinosaur cook-out stuff. ... show more

I have small hands and it was quite difficult finding gloves that fit well without the finger tips dangling. These are great, fit well, do the job whilst using the pellet grill and in the kitchen. The colour is a nice purple as well. Very happy with this purchase.
