They are great speakers I tried them out. They must have been miss treated because one of the grills is broken. Never the less I will try to repair the grill who knows what another set would look like if I return them. They should have been packed a little better they didn't even have little plastic pillows like a lot of packages and they had an oversized box so they really went through the ringer. ... show more

    • Good sounds, Decent replacement for OEM

These speakers have good sound, nice balance. They are not as heavy on the bass as my original OEM. More to the point, when my 18 year OEM speakers finally died, I really did not care to drop big money in an older vehicle. I simply could not justify spending $100-200 for an name brand that might be an upgrade. Instead I was on the look out for speakers that might be more of like for like and these speaker fit the bill nicely. The construction is very similar to that of OEM Toyota. The only difference is my Toyota had 6.75" speakers. These are of course 6.5" which seem to be a more common size. I bought the required speaker mounts and wire adapters. One side took me close to 45 minutes (maybe an hour). If you are not comfortable or do not have the tools, you might want to let a professional install your speakers. From a sound quality perspective, these 6.5" speakers sound decent. I have them in the rear of my Honda Element running off a RF Power1000 5-channel amp rated at 50 x 4 @ 4ohm. Certainly better than stockers, but not approaching my components installed in the front, but, that is to be expected from a sub $30 set of speakers. At this price point, for the sound, they are a great value. I do have two sticking points, though. First, is that the speaks use foam surrounds. For a speaker that will likely be installed in a door, I usually prefer rubber surrounds as foam will deteriorate more quickly when exposed to moisture and large temperature variances. I know foam can be more efficient from a speaker operating perspective, but I prefer the durability of rubber. Second issue are the power handling specifications of these speakers. The item description and paper insert that came with the speakers state this speaker, the CS651 as having a 70W RMS power spec. However, on the outside of the box, which appears to be a sticker added to the box, states 50W RMS. I don't want to make assumptions, but I'd stick with the lower spec for safety until the manufacturer clears this up. All in all, a good value for some 2-way 6.5" speakers. Look good, and much better than stock. Not much bass but the highs are ok and provide clear clean sound. For the price the quality is acceptable. Given you get what you pay for you shouldn't expect the world from these speakers, but they do sound good and if you hook them up with a nice subwoofer, you'll be sounding good without breaking the bank. I'm a music lover, but by no means am I a technical speaker guy. I know when something sounds bad, but I'm not a get in the weeds with specs guy. I just needed a speaker to install in an area where I could hear over the road noise, and this did the trick perfectly for me. My daily driver is a 34' shuttle bus and as mentioned, the road noise cancels out the sound coming from the OEM speaker near my feet in the door. There are 4 other speakers throughout the bus, but in order for me to hear them, I have to crank them up so high my family is unhappy as it's too loud for them. So, I installed this speaker over the driver's seat. Being my first foray into the car audio realm, the install was relatively easy. Cutting the hole in the roof of the cab and running the speaker wires through all the pillars was the difficult part. And for any DIYers that DON'T know, the 2 cardboard pieces provided are templates. Since my speakers didn't come with any instructions, I wasn't sure what they were initially to be used for, but I figured it out as I began my installation. They also provided the screws, but they were all stuck to the magnet of the speaker I DIDN'T open first. So open both speakers just in case. As for the sound, I love it! My head unit has amplifier settings which allowed me to change the various settings for the sound quality. The bass and treble both sound good. But, most importantly to me, I can now hear and sing along to my favorite songs as I'm cruising down the highway! My Star Rating Scale: 5 stars - Perfect, or as close to perfect as possible and would definitely recommend to anyone. 4 stars - Works well, but could see some minor changes that could make the product better. Would recommend to others. 3 stars - Functional, but areas of concern or major changes that could make the product better. Recommend researching other options. 2 stars - Barely functional, recommend researching other options. 1 star - Avoid at all costs! ... show more

These are relatively low cost but great sounding speakers. They are rely rugged and should last a long time under normal use. Great mid to high range sound. I’m actually using these to enhance my home sound system. I had plenty of base, just needed to enhance the mid and high notes, these do a great job! They do look like they would be easy to install in an auto and I’m sure the sound quality would be just as good. Price is a great value and I would purchase again! ... show more
