I didn't expect anything was still available for my old S8 Active (SM-G892A) phone. The battery had been getting bigger, pushing out the back of the phone, separating the back from the front, leaving a gap. If it were to get wet, that would be the end of my phone. I was not going to pay $80 or more for a repair shop to replace my battery. Thankfully, I found this kit which saved me a lot of money! Overall it was an easy process to open the back of the phone and replace the battery. Just a few issues like accidentally breaking the fingerprint sensor cable, which I had to get a new one from eBay for $10. Took a week to get, so I left the back of the phone unglued until I replaced the sensor. The second issue was getting the old battery out without puncturing it. It was firmly glued down which took a lot of heat from the hair dryer and eventually I was able to pry it out. The last issue was using the included perforation (sort of) molded adhesive. I say sort of because it was all one piece and the perforation cut was not easy to separate from the rest of the sheet. I had to use scissors to actually cut it from the rest. BTW the battery is a tad shorter. Use the included double-stick tape to secure it down so it won't move. According to my phone battery information, the battery is the same size at 4000mAh. Even though it is shorter it does have the same Milliamp Hours as the original phone battery.

I bought a new old stock S8 as a secondary phone/music player. The phone was pristine but the 5-year-old battery was stored flat for too long and would not hold a charge. This kit included everything I needed to install a new battery, for a reasonable rate. I have lots of experience with mobile tech repairs, but I would still put this replacement at a 3/5 difficulty. Be prepared to apply heat and plenty of patience. The old battery began to swell pretty quickly into my regular use (and overcharging) of the device, so I myself had an easy way into the back cover. The new adhesive is pretty good, much better than trying to reuse the old, and the battery performs well. I would imagine not 100% as well as a brand new battery from 2017 but hey it's 2023 and this must be at least 80% of the intended capacity. It works well for my use case. I tossed the included tools aside in favor of my nicer iFixit set but it's still nice to know they were there. If I had to replace a battery again I would buy this kit over others on the market.

I bought a new S8 but seller sold me a defective one with a swollen battery ... it had completely popped off the back (plastic .. not glass) back before even using. Bad ebay seller. 🤬 Anyways, this made replacing new battery extremely easy. I only had to unscrew top half of the screws .. bottom screws were not necessary for my phone. I cit the sticky yellow back tape into 2 thinner strips and attached to each side of new battery. The back case sticky one was easy to install too. Definitely a good buy/experience. I saved $200 by not taking in to phone repair shop. My phone works superb now!! Yay, me!!

Update, This is Officially the worst battery ever! It has gotten so bad now that I have to remove the Sim card for it to even charge now. This really sucks and the bad part is, it looks like the only batteries available for my old work horse. Again really sucks. What I would give for a standard Li-ion battery right now. I am reverting to putting ina battery that was removed 2 yrs ago. Its the only battery I have that still has enough juice on it to work The battery is not Lithium Ion! it is Lithium polymer [LiPO] which is half the price of what [Li-ion] battery. Seem to take a quick charge [quicker than normal] and works flawlessly for most of the day, BUT when it gets to about 25 to 30 %, don't trust it. one minute is at 30% and the next minute it has shut off so fast that the phone does not have time to notify you or properly shut down. I just stop. Black screen nothing and when you go to charge it. there is ZERO 0% persent left and you have to do the dead battery trick to get it to even charge. Now here is something that dead giveaway of what it is. you plug it in and check it and after 5 minutes, it will have 1% battery charged. when you come back to check it 30 minute later it 98% charged and within an hour its fully charged. This is a lithium Polymer battery and they are lying about it.

Includes a new battery, adhesive for reattaching the back, and some tools for doing the job. Does NOT include a heat gun, tweezers, or nitrile/latex gloves. But I had all this stuff in my shop so I gave it a go. Instructions are apparently translated from Chinese - poorly. YouTube is your friend. I did the job and the phone works. It took me about 2 hours. I lost one screw (found it later), had one part left over (unidentified), and managed to crack the back cover of the phone. Uuofide has not responded to my email requesting identification of the part. Unless you have a spare phone or you've been considering buying a new phone, take this job to your local 'fix-it' pros. Charge will be about $70 or $80 and it's their worry, not yours.
