Ok, as much as I hate to admit it, I bought an Ibanez Standard SR305E 5-string Bass Guitar - Midnight Gray Burst, because I thought it would be a better guitar than the Glarry GIB Electric 5 String Bass. The Ibanez arrived today. There was a lot of string buzz, the E had a muffled sound compared to the other strings, and I had to constantly adjust the tune. Again, as much as I hate to admit it, the Glarry GIB sounds a lot better with my Rumble 200-watt amp compared to the Ibanez. I am headed out to return the Ibanez ASAP. For some reason E string gave a poor-quality muffled sound. Given the fact that the Ibanez is a lot more expensive than the Glarry GIB, I would expect a better quality. Other than needing slight adjustments on the action and intonation, this bass is as close to perfect as you will find in this price range. It's easy to play and sounds awesome through my Fender Rumble 100 amp. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Allen wrench for adjusting the saddles wasn't with it. I am becoming a fanboy. 2 of the 3 Glarry basses I own are absolutely perfect. This model had a minor electrical issue. The seller communicated well and rectified the situation to my benefit. I purchased my 3rd Glarry bass after buying this bass and working with the seller. That should tell you everything you need to know about the Glarry brand. I plan to purchase every Glarry model because of their quality and value. The fit of this bass is solid. It had one minor issue. I would have given it a lower rating if the customer service wasn't as good as I encountered. ... show more

Well I got this bass in July on the 13 it was in perstine shape no scratches or dings like in previous reviews and the strings well I will be changing then soon for erine ball custom 5 string full sized bass the case is made of light material no matter I will find a hard shell case for it and I love the sound and weighte of the bass I am using it in my studio right now and recording with it I give it 5 stars for quality and it's not for beginners at all ... show more

What do you get at this price range? A bag of worms. I have the GIB 4 string and that took work but at least I was able to make that right. This 5 string is a different animal. Basically Glarry took their 4 string body and said “Lets make this a 5 string.” On mine the pickups are 19mm spaced and pushed too close to the neck. This body needed to be made bigger and longer because you will never get the low “B’ string and the high “G” string over the pole pieces as intended because those strings would have to be off the fretboard to do so. To compensate for this the brains at Glarry said “Oh, we’ll just put in a cheap 18mm spaced bridge. Now the low “B” and high “G” strings are on the fretboard but nowhere near the outer pole pieces of the pickups and they will never be. There are two volume and two tone controls neither work independently so I don’t know why they bothered. This bass is the worst kind of junk because it was engineered by a monkey and can NEVER be made right. ... show more

I bought this for one simple reason, to be cheap! And honestly, it's pretty good. The only complaint I have (and it's not even that big of a deal to me), is that the lower frets on the B string can be kind of buzzy. However, I believe with proper adjustment, it can be fixed. For credibility i have played piano for 16 years. Also guitar for 14 years. So i am a PRO-Amateur. I am no Lutherer, but i do dabel in augmutation of guitars. I bought this bass guitar for my worship group; and was my first bass. I origanaly played acoustic guitar in the group. But my brother started to play a acoustic guitar for the worship group. And if you know anything about worship groups 2 acoustic guitars on stage is monotonous. So i wanted to enrich the music and noticed we lacked "the BASS" P.S. (Dave505) I saw the bass.on Amazon and was thinking "a 5 string bass for 200$ plus tax online....Ya right". But saw some online reviews and was sold from then on. As soon as i got the bass i wanted to play slap so i had to adjust the bridge action. And all the sudden could play slap. I have used it in church for a hole year.
