    • Works for 2025 MBP

    • A less expensive way to add storage to your MacBook Pro!
Size: Adapter with HDMI Dust Plug Color: Space Gray
I bought one of these for my 2015 MBP and loved it so when I got my new 16” MBP I hoped they made one for it and they do! With Apple charging so much for storage this gives you a less expensive way to add storage and not have it sticking out the side of your Mac. It lives in the port and looks stock! ... show more

    • Faulty hardware, save yourself time and money... BaseQI client support exists. update will follow
Size: Adapter with HDMI Dust Plug Color: Silver
Revised post client support contact: In a nutshell: stay clear ! unless you want to lose time, data and money... Perfect fit for the MBP 14 2024 SD slot... BUT source of constant read/write errors after a couple of months of use. I have checked every step suggested on the Amazon product support page, checked and rechecked the microSD card, re-installed a fresh version of MacOS twice... the conclusion is unavoidable: this baseQI hardware is the root cause of read/write failures and random SD card disconnections. I finally found my way to BaseQI, via the online support path of Amazon, in ways I don't remember though... and sent a message to BaseQI service team. I receive a prompt and action-oriented reply, thank you: BaseQI offered a replacement device (great!), provided I send a picture of the faulty one (back of the device with the ID#) - sure! and a picture of the device cut in half... Sorry? Is this a credit card (no)... so, not so sure, not so fast... I'm not destroying anything until I see a functional replacement part and can void my current warranty claim... seriously, this is not a credit card and unless BaseQI is facing a massive fraudulent warranty claim wave (doubtful), I found the approach disturbing, to stay polite. Anyway, now awaiting the replacement part and hoping it'll work as advertised. Still not sure how I feel about the brand and service though. ... show more

    • If you are after permanent storage - go for UHS-II card.

Works as expected, no problem. For well. Overpriced as for me. To uncover the potential need UHS-II card.

    • A cheap but not advisable way to expand MacBook Pro storage.

This new design for the MacBook Pro 2021 is really nice for the price. As expected from technically a MicroSD card reader, it performs similar decent branded card reader. It does have the extra pins for UHS-II but unfortunately I don't have MicroSD that supports UHS-II, so I can only speak for UHS-I speeds. At about 89R/79W speed, it is in the range what I expected. I am using a 1TB Sandisk MicroSD with the new QuickFlow technology. As expected, the BaseQi 420A doesn't support SanDisk's proprietary tech. UHS-II MicroSD card should be able to give better read and write speeds. It's a very affordable way to expand MacBook Pro's storage with of course very slow transfer speeds (comparing to the built in storage), but as long as you're okay with it - then it shouldn't disappoint you. The card is well built with aluminum bits to match the MacBook's color. The card pokes out a bit and doesn't completely sit flushed to the chassis. It's very minimal but you'll definitely feel it if your hand or finger touches the edges. It does make un-mounting the cards easier. I bought the one with the HDMI dust cover which fits snugly to the port, I find it more difficult to remove, so if you're planning to use HDMI more often, better don't use the dust cover. Overall, I will still recommend this as it's not expensive plus gives the user a MicroSD card reader on the go. Compared to expansion cards like Transcend's JetDrive Lite which will be problematic to extract files from as it custom shaped to fit inside the card slot of a MacBoo Pro. BaseQi's approach is far more practical and affordable. ... show more

I have a 2024 MacBook Pro in space black - this fantastic microSD to SD card fits perfectly, perfectly flush, it's nearly invisible. The only negative and I am nit picking here if you want to keep your MacBook Pro looking sleek this device is right on the money, the color is slightly off from apples space black - but as I said nit picking you have to look pretty close to notice. The microSD card slot seems too small but you can get it in there - be gentle - and make sure you seat the card all the way in - on my unit it took some good pressure 2 or 3 times to get it fully seated. Plugged it in - the drive showed up immediately. Flush fit. Done. ... show more

    • It ain't cheap

Way overpriced! But it's what I could find and it works as intended. My MacBook pro no longer has an appendage sticking out the side. If you want it, just get it.
