As a professional baseball mom (who is also a nurse with a sharp eye) I see ALL of the “baseball drip” daily and am grateful that my son hasn’t really cared about it. Yet. I’m more than happy to supply drip with a dual purpose, like a new baseball bat that looks awesome. But when I saw kids wearing shorts that were $50, I was wondering why they were so popular. The bright designs and colors are obvious, but they looked like regular gym shorts. My son is 13u this season, and when I showed him these shorts we can review, he was all for it. We haven’t seen this color or the blue or yellow at baseball (we have an indoor club for winter). Ok, I’ll admit that these are nice shorts haha. When compared to regular gym shorts from big name brands, the $50 price tag doesn’t hurt as much. These shirts are double lined 100% polyester, which gives them a more substantial feel and extra coverage. They’re softer than normal polyester though. My son is a catcher and has to wear a jock with cup to practice. He hates when you can see the lines through his shorts or pants, and this completely conceals that. They wear well with leggings underneath and don’t get staticky or ride up. Because the shorts are double lined, you can even flip them inside out for a solid colored short, and the pockets are concealed. So while inside out, you won’t get pockets, but you also won’t have the pocket fabric hanging at your sides. They have a full elastic waistband with an inner drawstring cord. The drawstring ends are thick plastic coated with “BL101” engraved. The pockets are huge and my son could fit 3 baseballs in each pocket. They’re extremely well made and will definitely last through an entire family’s “hand-me-downs”. And they resell easily if you only have 1 child. So while they are a bigger price tag at first, the quality will make them a better financial choice in the long run. And now I’ve just ordered the banana shorts, so this may be the beginning of a new baseball addiction! EDIT: We’ve now added the cheeese shorts to the family. As a loyal lover of cheese, we couldn’t pass them up. Unfortunately they don’t match much of anything except plain black tees, so they don’t get worn as often as I thought. The quality is the same as the previous BL101 lines of clothes. My fellow baseball mom’s who are teachers seem to gravitate to this “crayon theme” more than anyone else.
