As far as product quality is concerned, IKEA hasn't changed much since the 90's. Some items last and last for decades, while others don't make it past a few months. Case in point: the BAREN toilet brush. If one isn't extremely gentle with the brush while cleaning, the metal half will break free from the lower half (which is a plastic rod topped with a metal cap) because both metal parts are (get this!) secured together only with a thin, circumferential strip of glue. The handle can only withstand the slightest amount of pressure, but even so, it's only a matter of time before the glue ages enough and loses its holding power. Whoever designed this product knows nothing about functionality or durability. Sure, it looks nice and neat and modern, but the value ends there. BAREN's only real asset to speak of is a plastic cup that sits in the bottom of the holder which slides out for easy cleaning. ... show more
